I have. He's capable of bowling 90+ mph and was bowling well.

Tell that to Jack Torrance. Liam Plunkett does not bowl 90mph other than the odd delivery. he hasn't done for many years on a consistent basis.

Fair enough, forgot about that. It's a queer set up, as he's playing domestic cricket as an Englishman though isn't he?

He could be used sparingly so that he keeps his pace and fitness, the whole idea is that he would offer something different to what we have. All the others aren't able to bowl 90mph any ball, no matter how hard they try. In fact, they're more likely to drop into the 70's and so having someone who even when labouring bowls 82-87 is a big plus on someone who is 77-82 regularly.

I think it's also worth considering too, that Australian conditions are very friendly to Fast bowlers - I remember during the last tour Sky doing a piece on the difference in pace through the air in warmer, steamier climates.

Its much more than that though. They shouldn't be picked purely on the basis that they can bowl the odd ball at 90 mph or above. Starc and Cummins can bowl 90 mph routinely and Hazlewood sometimes but they are all quality consistent quick bowlers.

I would have picked Plunkett because hes better than bowlers we did pick but he isn't as quick as the Aussie trio. Olly Stone is rapid but I didn't see anyone on here putting his name forward a few weeks ago.
