Mind he said Stokes wouldn't have made any difference. Completely disagree with that. He'd have made a difference in batting, bowling and competing. Apart from that, not much.

We need to get on with creating conditions at home not dependent on swing. Even when we were world no 1 afew years back our away form was less than imperious.

Having said that we didn't deserve to win anything with such brainless batting this series.

Australia did the basics well and Smith was towering at the crease but England gave away literally dozens of wickets over the three Tests.

He would have been able to build up enough steam to maybe push some of the batsmen onto the back foot. He can also play off the back foot with bat. Instantly our best batter. Wasn' to be and possibly made a little difference as the other 10 have at points have been pathetic.
Bairstow give catching practice for a few of his wickets. Cooks stood in middle of all 3 for 3weeks now without moving. Roots a tenth of the player of Smith. Sromemqn is tidy but not good enough and Vince fuck me he can play but if you continue to repeat the same dismissal without huge runs in the middle it's goodbye.
Bowling although not all.about pace it' a massive factor and our star bowlers are a pair of selfish fuckers 30 overs 0-80 looks ok but in context it was no threat
