JRM pushing for more exclusive faith schools

I remember when St John's in Bishop didn't allow anyone but Catholics which surprised me because I didn't know that many were even in Bishop!
They started letting pupils of all faiths and none when my sister (no) started going and that was the early 90s.

Should you want to tell serial breeder and all round cocksocket, Jacob Rees-Mogg to stop f***ing around with schools based on religion, you can do so here.

The less schools with a faith base, the better. I'm not against people learning about religion, but it shouldn't be put upon every child which goes to a school - regardless of their faiths

Quite what religious instruction is doing in ANY school in the 21stC is absolutely beyond me. The state should be secular, including all schools. If people want to fanny about worshipping things in their own time that is, of course, entirely up to them. In schools children should only learn ABOUT religions around the world and the schools should be carefully monitored.

JRM can fuck of too.

The Tories wouldn't dare do any of this as it would upset their major traditional, dinosaur voters who are CofE. The old expression "The CoE is The Tory Party at prayer"

Madness!

Its absolutely ridiculous to "need" a specific flavour of religion running through the backbone of any education system.

All of this pandering to religion needs to stop. More than half the UK is not religious today. And that number is vastly higher in the range of people involved in education - i.e. parents:

From http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-41150792
"Last year 53% of people described themselves as having "no religion"
Among those aged between 18 and 25, the proportion was higher at 71%.
Almost two in three 25 to 34 year olds said they were non-religious,"

18-35 - the vast majority of the age range of people who send children to school - about 68% are not religious at all, nevermind christian.

It's a good job Labour doesn't have a sizeable lobby that they'd piss off if they banned faith schools... ;)

I wasn’t aware anyone was forced to go to a faith school?

Oh I think a lot of children are forced to, but that's another issue.

Depends what area you live in too, if that's your only option, for a school, then your child will end up going there.

Not sure what Rees-Mogg having a lot of kids has to do with it either. I doubt you would call a Muslim a serial breeder to their face, pretty disgusting tbf.

I’m one of five and my mam is one of four, what’s the problem?

Faith schools aren’t better because they have religion in the schools, they’re better because their status and funding allows them to operate in a better way. I don’t get why they don’t have non-religious schools doing the same thing

He hasn’t called JRM that to his face.

All schools should be religion free with quadruple Science Monday - Thursday and double ‘this is how religion fucks up he world’ on Friday.

Then let the reasonably educated young adults decide for themselves.
