County Cricket Fixtures 2018

No visit to Lord's or Bristol, which is a real shame. Definitely going to Arundel, though; what a cracking ground that is.

I like the return to having more CC games on a Friday/Saturday/Sunday. IMO, CC games should start in a Sunday to get a big crowd in.

They did that a few years back, maybe 2013 it started, they cited the reason for it being that Sunday's were the preferred start day of the counties.

Edit -

So 2012 it was, but clearly the ECB now don't wish to give the counties any say......

Notice that we sit out the first round of Championship matches again. Hope the club have a better plan for preparation this year then - after bemoaning last season that we were hindered by playing our first game against a team playing their second.

The fewer times that Durham cricketers have to go to Bristol, the better
Haha, good point! No nights out there with Ben Stokes. Personally, I really like County Ground, but may visit Cheltenham in 2018.

OT-England u19's Vs. SA u19's at the Riverside in July.

Test match-Mon 16th July
ODI-Mon 23rd July

One of the other ODI's will be at South North.

Can't be long until they get a full ODI tbh, cracking ground and would get a good crowd in if got a temporary stand in. Think next time the World Cup is in England the ECB should look at it as a venue suitable to host England woman fixtures and some of the lesser mens nations games - maybe Scotland v Sri Lanka or something like that in a group stage so still a home nation feel. Would be superb for that imo.

We haven't got Test status anymore
Which still baffles me, especially when a shit hole like the Rose Bowl does.

Wouldn't go that far, wouldn't be enough room to set up all the necessary structures broadcasters would need to cover it. Wouldn't surprise me if it was used for a Lions game though.

The Rose Bowl is a decent ground. Better than Cardiff and Bristol.
