Apologies for starting another telly thread but anyway..need a new telly..going to get a smart one..lad at work who does the Kodi..Open boxes..etc..he says get a Samsung..apparently there's a feature on them for installing IPTV..been on YouTube watched some of the tutorials and folks on the comments can't get IPTV on their Samsung tellys..are they thick or am I thick or am I reading too much into it..me heads battered..anyone??

Got a Sony bravia which has android OS. I've installed apps like Kodi, perfect player etc and can watch my IPTV subscription using either of those.

Ta mate..how do you find IPTV..i've had a Kodi box and an Open box and they weren't very good to be honest.

I’ve got perfect player which i get with black devils lounge subscription, shit loads of content but freezes a canny bit despite Kodi box being hard wired to router on 200Mbs Service

I think it’s IPTV like

I've seen iptv on Samsung tellys like, no idea how to put it on but I'm sure either Google or smb will have an answer. Can you buy tellys that aren't smart enabled nower days? It's a few years since I've looked but surely it can't cost that much more to pop a smart hub in one?

Just started using it for sports. Got flawless subscription . Seems okay but sometimes bails out like other poster says. Previously had raspberry pi HDMI to telly.

You need to subscribe to an IPTV service to get it working but it’s very easy

No mate- my connection is wired directly into the router so bandwidth should never be an issue but IPTV still stutters and freezes occasions. In fact more than occasionally on some channels

Ta mate..I only want it for the Football.

So if the telly I get has an Android OS or Tizen (which seems to be on Samsungs as a rule)...watching IPTV through either won't make much difference? ?

I really don’t know mate - I just know I can stream 1080 films flawlessly every time but IPTV has blips quite often for me on a decent spec Kodi box

Samsung and LG both have the ability to install IPTV apps such as smart iptv, so you can watch a subscription direct on them.

Sony have android tv’s so you can install iptv apps and also kodi on them. However it’s like having the shitest android box you can buy built into tv. No auto refresh rate switching, slow, buggy. Avoid.

Get a decent Samsung or LG, then subscribe to pm club if you want to avoid kodi.

What’s yer budget??

The Samsung i'm looking at is a 4k Ultra HD..40''..that's down to the size of the room..the model number is UE4OMU674OU... £499 in Currys.
