What's the oddest thing you've ever found in your house that you didn't put there?

Had some mains cables near the fuse box going through a wall. Then one day I found that the plaster around them had fell out leaving a brick sized hole. In the hole was a copy of a sixties daily mirror that had been stuffed in for use as a backing for the plaster. Bloody sixties cowboys I thought they were a modern trend.
It was interesting reading the paper though most of which was still readable.

I found 2 brief cases with tax records from people who lived in Hendon,
must have been old, from the time people in Hendon paid tax ...

Not a found but a left. In my old gaff the previous woman left a tin of red paint to "touch up" her dodgy decorating, needless
to say we painted over it. When we redecorated, I used the red paint to write

"I WILL KILL AGAIN"

on the living room wall before I papered it.

Came across an old newspaper more than a hundred yrs old with reports about the Alaskan Gold Rush.
Still have it somewhere.

Found a drunk deaf bloke in my hallway one night. I had been down pub and forgot to lock door when got home. Went on bog then went to go bed and there was this bloke just standing there. Threw him out in street and he started booting cars and got arrested.

A group of us once sent a lad into the wrong house after a night in Baja Beach club when we were heading back to the Uni flat we rented on Westgate road, he was plastered so hadn't clicked it wasnt ours.

Anyway, turns out the door was unlocked and he wandered in only to get a good kicking from the people who lived there.

He never seen the funny side of that one....
