Always thought he would turn us down, once he's spoke to Bain and told of the restrictions Mr "I'm a fan and want the best for the club" short would put in place. Can't wait to see who our "should be top 7 premier league" club bring in.

It keeps happening. Our reputation in the game now is such that it's a wonder we even get to talk to the likes of Karanka in the first place. @MADBOB THE MAKEM will know how much our name is now dirt amongst managers.

We'll only be able to attract someone that is aware of the conditions but willing to risk whatever reputation they may have by working under them, as Grayson was. So, I'd say either a rookie or a lower league manager.

Mind, since everyone in the game knows what it's like here maybe a manager's reputation isn't significantly damaged by failing here. Moyes getting the West Ham gig is probably testament to that. It may be the one thing that works in our favour.
Failing at SAFC can't be considered failure within the game at all. If anything it'll seen as a sign of intelligence in experienced managers. Three years wages for nine months work.....only a fool would say no. For first jobbers it could be fatal though which is why we won't be getting one.
The rest of the football industry has surely been aware of how little organisation, experience, knowledge, and general streetwise nous exists behind the scenes at SAFC for a long time.

Karanka was in London last week to discuss offer as a number 2 in the PL.

Sunderland still want him but "the club has changed the goal posts".

My source feels it's slipping away from us now. But that bit is just an opinion from him, not from the horse's mouth.

The goal posts will either be a budget or him bringing his coaching staff which is also money.

I think they will give it to Stockdale and McKinley till the end of the season
If this happens, bar another miracle we have had it. Need some vast experience and somebody with grit and backbone to sort the mess out, however, unsure how we attract somebody like this?
Would usually be done with folding notes but we dont have much apparently.

Peter Reid is sounding more plausible as the days pass by.
