Watching The Ashes

Do IPTV systems/streams actually work (just out of interest)?

With a little bit of work they do the job. Need to play around with the setup and find what works best for you, and realise they will never be as reliable as Sky, and its fine.

Any updates on how to watch this at a reasonable price, would love to get it for my dad to watch, but FFS, he has to have broadband and a f***ing tardis included just to watch the cricket

The story overall goes like this. Sky has decided two exploit two areas, in recent times: subscriptions and one-off/weekly 'tickets' for events. In contrast, BT continues to follow the traditional subscription-only model for sports. It's a shame, I think.

Missed out on a market there

What price just for the Aussie tour? who would pay?

I'm just praying my dodgy box is still working come the series. Sky have found a way to block their channels, but BT/ESPN/Premier Sports etc are still working.

If it knacks up, I'll rely on IPTV. Only downside to that is I can't record a full day's play to watch the day after.

Sea
Who are the key providers (again, just out of interest)?
I'll stick a link toy provider when I get home later. Watched a fair bit yesterday 3pm KO and boxing and it was spot on all the way.

I can live with live action being pay-only, but there really should be a ‘Crown Jewels remain still cleaming’ list that means the highlights are at least on terrestrial tv

Cricket will die otherwise, it’s already severely ill since the halcyon days up to 2005

Bt sports Still works on openbox/zgemma with a line apparently. So I'll be digging me zgemma out later and got a test line off techkings. 14 quid for 6mth/22 per year.

Also for those who are on EE, you can add BT Sport for £5 a month (was the price last time i checked), might then be able to cast onto tv or use log in through laptop etc to get onto TV

Its worked out well for me. I've never had Skysports in years because I don't watch enough to warrant the cost. I do pay £70.00 per month with Virgin for their Full house TV which includes BT sport. I don't watch it that much tbf but for the test series it will be getting some hammer.

Zgemma working well. About 100 extra channels still going including gold, mtv, discovery channels, soft porn and bt sports. 14 quid for 6 month.

Dee me.
