Their twitter page has what appears to be either Aus or NZ flag on the message. My eyes arent good enough to tell the difference on an emoji.

So that means Latham is still on then?

Will be 35 soon .... so Onions may have a thought or two about this.... but good luck to him anyway.

23 first class matches might mean he was willing to take Onions salary over two years

Yea, well. We needed someone. If only a Onions deal could have been sorted but it wasn't and accepting that fact then we'll see how he goes. I hope it goes well for him.

I'd suppose he'll be partnering Rushy in opening the bowling so it will give some of our other bowlers another year to mature.

38 1st class matches according to cricinfo with over 100 wickets and Sheffield Shield is a higher standard than 2nd div. CC. Pitches in the 2nd div will also be more bowler friendly. Hardly euphoric but let's face it we're hardly the most attractive club at present.

If we're getting this lad AND Latham, that's absolutely fantastic news.

The description atleast leads me to believe he'll take the new ball with Rushy.

Good stats them, bear in mind the Sheffield Shield is only ten games a season as opposed to 16 too - which puts a different perspective on it slightly. Worth noting more, the quality of cricket in the Sheffield Shield.
