Non League Football

Yes, Shields have good crowds of their own. Newcastle aren't at home and people in the town are interested.
I would be more concerned about the 15,000 Sunderland supporters who have turned their backs on the club this season.
You saying they’re all mags then Darius mate? ;)

For some people to suggest that South Shields pose a threat to Sunderland's attendances is preposterous.
The only threat to Sunderland's attendances is Sunderland AFC.

Agreed but what may the future hold in a world of changing fortunes ?

I've refereed when I was younger and played non-league for years ... that was one line in my whole post.

Anyways i've never been a season ticket holder because my saturdays have always been taken up by playing it myself or refereeing other games - I just go to our games when I can.

What I was trying to say is that I have a massive love for none league and not many people do unless they are involved in it.

Suddenly the Shields fans are experiencing it and they are absolutely loving it. It's proper football without the modern day pampered footballers detached from the fans.

You can go in the club house and have a pint with the players after the game, Julio Arca et al.

Shields will never be a threat so Sunderland regardless of what any of their fans say so just chill out and let them enjoy their success whilst it lasts

Any Sunderland fan who is jealous of them and bites is a complete tit, i'm genuinely embarrassed for them and if they haven't yet then they need to go and experience a non-league game

They might not have the love for that club that they do for Sunderland but I can bet you the a lot of them will enjoy the game more than the shite that is served up at Sunderland. Players on 50k a week with no heart bottling tackles or players flying into tackles for the desire to win and the love of the game earning a pittance in comparison.
So what's new ?

You missed out Northern

there will be none of that tomorrow, 420 Poolies will be making sure of that.
You mean....many hands make (the) light work?

I’ve never believed in this second team crap, but like many SAFC when it comes to friendlies or games SAFC are not involved in, The Vic has been my venue of choice. Does this mean I’ve got monkey’s blood in me ;)

Sorry Sheels, but as much as I love Colmans and all the Indian places on Ocean Road it’s a great place but not for me. No doubt if and when they reach the football league I will check them out in their new stadium:p

Fuck Colmans,mags

You seem a bit simple so for that reason I'm out ... enjoy the Sunderland game on Saturday.

Hope all local teams win (myself included )
Simple ? No no no im a cretin

100% agree ... I think a lot of it is jealousy mind.

Our fans have had years of putting up with utter shit and seeing such a small local club make massive strides in recent years brings out the jealous wankers in our support.

I play in the lower leagues and I am heavily involved in grassroots football - I love seeing local sides climbing the ladder and making a success of themselves.

We need more North East teams higher up the pyramid and it's looking good at the minute with Shields, Spenny and Blyth.

People need to calm down and stop seeing Shields as a threat ... yes they will take a few fans from both us and the mags but in a 3000 capacity stadium the effect is minimal.

Also the best they can hope for imo is conferance football or League 2 at a massive push with some good fortune along the way.

Anyone slagging them off is a monumental bellend .... I'll be playing on Saturday so won't see the game but will be hoping for a Shields win

If Hartlepool win i'll be supporting them in the next round as they're a North East team

well said. dont forget Shildon away at guisely tomorrow as well. tier 9 v tier 5. massive underdogs but one win away from being in the draw with Charlton, Portsmouth etc..

What's the point of not opening threads you numpty?

the point is if its a subject which is both boring and pissing you off (your words) why open a thread titled South Shields v Hartlepool ?

couldnt have put it better myself. will always be sunderland through and through, but i've watched loads of non-league over the last 3 or 4 years and i'm not ashamed to say that i really enjoy it. been following spennymoor and made some good mates and been on a few cracking away days. they dont care about your background at that level. every single extra supporter through the gates makes a massive difference
