Are we surprised at this, should it be allowed, what do we reckon the outcome will be?

I have a bit of sympathy with this one as generally you know it's going to rain or there is a good chance of it, you can't really predict a crossbow stopping the gameSurely the original decision has to stand. What would of happened if it had rained and the game ended early instead of the crossbow incident ending it early.
Middlesex should of made sure they were up to the required rate.
I have zero sympathy. Bowl your f***ing overs quick enough.I have a bit of sympathy with this one as generally you know it's going to rain or there is a good chance of it, you can't really predict a crossbow stopping the game
Aye. And as Marty tweeted the difference between this and Durham's case is that DCCC didn't have any cash for lawyers and so got stuffed .....Somerset are consulting with lawyers in case Middlesex get the points back.

Slow over rates are ruining cricket

Agree with @eddyfinn on this, if you're aware of the weather forecast that it isn't going to rain then you control what you can control. I've no doubt Middlesex we're going to get the over rate sorted by the end, but I'm fairly certain the weather forecasters did NOT include raining crossbows in their report.
All this because of some nutter with a crossbow.
And people wonder why I love south London.![]()
