Simple open and shut case.
I bet the cops wish all murder cases were so simple and straight forward.

The bloke said he went to the house but never set foot in it, then went on to say she had her mobile, and put it on the sofa...bench! Im suprised it wasnt mentioned, though im sure the police must have picked up on it

Am I the only one that thought it was poor compared to 24 hours in police custody and the one the BBC did ?

All that repetition of the golden hour bollocks, any one of us would have ordered the same checks. Endless footage of newcastle until they say he's arrived at Gateshead nick and he bloody was in the "toon"

Then rushed at the end with no indication of how the trial went or what a twat he was throughout

Absolutely this

I agree. It was an interesting documentary but didn't need all that golden hour bollocks

It was compelling because of the case. Hate itv and endless recapping after adverts. Just like the states. Felt rushed like others have said before the end. What an evil little shit.

I was going to say why did it need Trevor Mcdonald on the Quayside when a voice over would have been preferable. And yes, the repetition of 'golden hour' was doing my head in. Preferred the presentation of the recent BBC 2 Detectives programme to this, although it was a horribly tragic case.

It was in the local press day by day during the trial.
I'm surprised I missed it, usually keep on top of the news. I was surprised at the end when they said he was found guilty at trial- I thought he would have just pleaded after the way the interview/investigation went

No he used the defence that she had attacked him and stabbed herself by accident. The Chronicle (I know) gives excellent coverage of the big trials at Crown Court. Virtually giving a transciption as it happens.

Fits with the title of the program, I suppose.

Enjoyed it though. But also, didn't. Couldn't help feel for her friends and family, if any of them could watch this.

Her dad showed a lot of restraint. Full credit, what a gent.

I thought he was brought to Forth Banks, Newcastle.
