**** 2017 Cycling Thread ****

Full TT bike, but also more than suitable for Triathlons. Most bikes are now even badged as TT/Triathlon.
I only used it for TT but would have certainly used it for tri's or duathlons if I'd had it when I did them.
Very good spec ( Rocky Mountain TT frame( carbon) Vision Tri Max carbon Chainset, Vision Tri max Integrated bars etc, TT Shimano shifters, Hed front tri spoke
and Hed rear disc wheel.

All bought brand new( apart from the wheels which were bought second hand but run true etc)
Should be easy to flog. Got a price in mind?

Would hope for a grand or so..the tri spoke alone would be going on e bay for £250 plus.
Think of a £500 reserve and see where it goes....could do with replacing "summer/best" bike and this would go towards funding that.

If ever get back racing it would be a nice excuse to buy something new ;)if not at least it's not just sitting there

Too small for fletch. Imo i think you should split it, but message me when you're ready to sell it.

Will do...cheers mate
Looking at other TT/Triathlon bikes on fleabay many of the decent( on face of it) are sold minus the wheels, or with a cheap pair stuck on. Mine will have race ready fast wheels. The disc isn't the newest or fastest on market but ok, whereas the Hed tri spoke is still one of the fastest and best out there.

So aye...it's a decent spec ;)

Five foot seven...will check frame size
(TT frames usually smaller top tube than road bikes)

Edit. Frame size 51.6 cm
Shite .. I’m 6ft

Aye I’m a fully grown adult :D

Lad at work looked at that cannondale ad on CDNE , he reckons it’s more for time trials and would be uncomfortable for triathlons

There are very very few triathlon specific bikes on the market...PX5 being one of the few.
99% of them are multi use and I can't possibly see how one could be suitable for Triathlons but uncomfortable for tri's.

I know a few lads who do both Ironman and v long TT's( 100 mile up to 12 hours)on the same bike so with respect I'd disagree with your mate at work

He sounds like a whopper. Tts and flogging yourself in a triathlon is the same thing man

.. hes done couple triathlons (although does make out expert now) , reckons a tt bike would be no good as it would be uncomfortable and hurt your back , expecially if doing a long triathlon like an ironman

He's wrong...you can get a tri specific bike but the differences are minor( either with farings that act as storage or slightly different angle and stack which are meant to lessen leg load leaving rider fresh for run)

Vast majority of even ironman competitors use a tt/tri bike which is aimed at both markets.
Cervelo P series and Canyon speedmax etc

ah right, sounds like i'm getting advice from the wrong fella then

Ha...I'm not an expert, but your work mate doesn't sound one either ;)
I would put the link for the cannonale tt on here but unsure how to, @D.A may know how to as I sent him the link. although have found out its already 2nd hand.

Dan I text the lad bout that planet pro carbon, he reckons that its more an everyday bike plus hes 5'9", think limit height would be 5'11"

It is probably the slice ?
If you know anyone wanting a very fast, slippery bike for someone say five foot six to about five foot nine point him in my direction before it goes up on fleabay etc

"Triathlon" bikes are different to "TT" bikes in that TT bikes conform to the more strict UCI rules. i.e you can have disc brakes in triathlon.

I know that, however the vast majority of TT in Uk you're not required to have a UCI legal bike.
It would only be the likes of the RTTC champs this would apply to.
For example in 99% of TTs in U.K. the likes of this while not UCI legal are perfectly ok
