Sorry like people are too obsessed

Who gives a fuck man, no offense

It's just a bit of fun Dave man, let people be.

Isn't it time you started another thread about some cricket player ..... you only seem to come on here when that board is dead ;)

In 2016/17 HMRC won 22 out off 26 court cases Newcastle can fight this all they want they are just incurring what will no doubt be a multimillion pound legal bill.

Can we not just wipe them from existence? Anything other than this is a cop out by the Pl.

The only way that would happen is if HMRC sought a winding up order, which they could do if tax, penalties and interest assessed remained unpaid, or if the High Court deemed the company's dissolution to be in the public interest. In the interests of realism, I should also point out that the chances of that happening are probably vanishingly small.

Avoiding tax it is one thing, having your ground raided and your managing director arrested is something quite different.
Yup, one is dodgy, the other two are results of that dodginess.

As it stands nobody knows what will happen, yet on here people are convincing themselves that Newcastle will be kicked out of the league, fined £500m* and issued a winding up order.

*just curious, where this figure has come from? I heard they were investigating 5 or so transfers. £500m seems a touch high, unless we've signed Neymar on the sly?

At the very least HMRC will want any money they are owed if it’s say 10% of the £500m worth of transfers that’s £50m, plus a fine say £5m. The fa fine them say £2m.

The FA fine is on the never, never.
HMRC however will be like “we want out money now!, what’s that you don’t have it?” They will then file a petition to have the company wound up.

Just ask Rangers. They do not piss around. It’s not like owing a company money HMRC don’t give a shit. Barry at HMRC just needs to get this shit of his desk. For him getting the money or closing a company is the same. He then just picks up another folder hopefully labelled Man City or cheslsea.

It's not to do with the fees. It's to do with disguising the true nature of payments made to players and agents to evade PAYE, NIC and VAT. The amounts paid to other clubs have nothing to do with that. Having said that, the tax evaded could still run into tens of millions.

Apparently fifty of them

You keep coming on saying what people are thinking, why not post what you think and leave it at that.

I haven't seen a single poster 'convinced of anything' or in this 'frenzy' you claim ...... you're just seeing what you want to see, ironic from your other comments.

Would I be right in saying it could involve incoming and outgoing transfers, wages, agents fees, other income from TV etc and advertising deals with Ashley.

Some appear to believe it's just the sum total of a few transfer fees.

Well it’s in the public interest not to get ripped off and if HMRC decide they want £50m-£90m off them and if HMRC think they can’t get that back within say 12 months they literally will just go these people are not worth our time close the company, sell the assets.

If HMRC came demanding just £10m from Sunderland at the moment we’d probably fold as we like most clubs spend 90% of their income as soon as they get it.

No they wont.

Oh but they will ask anybody who has ever had a issue with HMRC.
They have a billionaire owner who if given 12 month to pay a multi million pound fine would sell some of his assets as from the information he is asset rich. I dont think it would create too many problems for him financially but to suggest the HMRC will just say forget about it and commence with a winding up order is crazy.

The hearing would allow for representations to be made to ensure that payment could be made

We all know there won't be a winding up order but a heavy points deduction or even relegation cannot be ruled out at this stage. That's on top of a possible heavy transfer embargo and the prospect of paying possibly tens of millions of pounds back. Anyone involved with NUFC should be a little worried at the back of their minds because this isn't going away any time soon

That's a very likely outcome as Ashley would save his own skin and drop him like a police horse.

A jail term for proven systematic organised tax fraud, from a professional who can't plead ignorance, is almost certain.

Even clients, who blame their accountants, aren't likely to escape serious punishment.

Governments live entirely on tax and don't like to having anyone 'stealing off them'.

You're convincing yourself that Charnley is certain to be dumped and go to jail if convicted, for a start.

Also, I said convincing, not convinced. there's a pertinent difference.
