Apart from paying off debt what good is a billionaire to any average club? Supposedly FFP determines clubs need to be generating their own income via TV / sponsorship / competition earnings. Only the elite clubs with massive overseas fanbases or sneaky / underhand sponsorship deals can give an ability to compete.

Oh, do fuck off. There's not a Sunderland fan alive - or a Newcastle fan, if it went the other way - that wouldn't notice or 'give a shite' if a potentially massive buy-out took place.

If you never have an opinion on anything, ever, that's related to the derby rivalry, then I'd say you're different to pretty much every North East football fan there is.

There's a big difference between having an opinion and an obsession.
