Whey ya fucker :eek::eek::eek:

It's mental, but after the day I've had - mates funeral, working late to make the time up spent at said funeral, coming out of work where I've had all kinds of abuse from management, news that Jennings is going, all after the exodus of the last few days...... Then I saw the cricket scores, where Notts and Hampshire look in bother and now I've seen this - suddenly all that is going round in my head is this:

Best news we've had in a while, Will Smith coming back. Loves it up here and it will hopefully inspire him back to doing good things. Gidman would be canny too. Still need another bowler though. Sign a proven county bowler and that's me happy.

Good t20 bowler is smith now albeit I know you mean championship.

Wonder if Mafgoffin fancies a change of scenery. What with Sussex having Acher,Jordan,Robinson,Wiese and Garton

Big Mitch would be welcome back, I know he's knocking on a bit but I like the idea of players coming back.

More I think, the more I love this signing. I remember not being particularly upset when he left, I felt we had better options IIRC. Now though, he's exactly the kind of player we need. Great technique and temperament, will bat for long periods of time if and when that is required.

Not sure what Smith will want to do with regards his batting role - but he could open with Latham allowing Steel to bat 3, or those two could swap with Smith at 3. Or even if the club want to put Burnham at 3, Smith could go down the order. He's interchangeable.

Great slip fielder, very useful bowler in all formats.

Welcome back Smudger!

2 decent signings Latham and Smith, should be consistent enough, is Latham back all year? He is a class act

Where has Gidman been playing? He seems to fallen away for no apparent reason?

We want him back for the year for sure, and going off the statement released by the club it sounds like Latham is happy to do that - just have to have it all ok'd by NZ I think.

So hopefully by the time the clocks go back it'll be confirmed.

If he's suspended from England, they might not take a chance.

Still, should get some use out of him.

They will, that is a very naive approach

Its like Messi doing this and nobody touching him

This might impact him in the short term with England but he is one of the best players in the world, and every franchise on the planet will want to sign him.

That is life and the cutthroat nature of sport and business.

You're probably right on this one.
