I've absolutely no issue with Stokes levelling the lad after he tried to bottle one of his group. That's fully deserved.

My issue is Stokes is a bit of a thick charver that needs to grow up and if he wants to be an England player/vice captain/captain then he needs to avoid putting himself into these kinds of situations.

I enjoy the way he plays the game on the field but he's an edgy fucker.

If Stokes cricket career goes up in smoke at least he could either be a boxer or a street vigilante righting the wrongs on saturday nights up and down the country

yep !
the lad tried to hit someone with a bottle so stokes throws a few punches ,

the cps will decide if what stokes has done goes beyond self defence ,
Personally, I think he'll be alright

At worst he might have to accept a caution for a public order offence cos I doubt the lad with a bottle will make a complaint of assault,

that's what would happen to joe public ( providing they haven't been in much bother before )

This will be completely be blown out of proportion aswell. You can see even from the start of a video that the Scum have published (the snippet they've conveniently chosen) Stokes is pretty reserved, he's pushing people away and backing off only for someone to swing at him with a bottle, He rightly so decides to hit him and takes him to the ground.

The ending of the video doesn't look great but to be fair, its a 10 second decision where he's completely seen red and IMO deservedly laid the lad out. Anyone swinging a bottle at someone deserves to be knocked out, cowards act.

I'm not saying Stokes decision was the right one (the KO) at the end, but under the circumstances seen in the video above i think its fair enough really. If he wasn't such a fiery character maybe he would have acted differently but he hasn't, It certainly doesn't look like he instigated the whole situation.

If he wasn't edgy he probably wouldn't be the Cricketer he is today.

I get that argument but part of being a grown up and not being an immature plonker that routinely gets himself into this kind of bother is to learn how to manage your emotions. He should know better.

iirc the lad he sparks out at the end isn't even the bloke with the bottle, he's already been laid out
