I think he will go to the ashes like

And he should do
I have not watched the video wouldn't bother and have stayed out of this thread but you are saying they should take him apparently regardless. But as I mentioned in my earlier post is can they take him if he is charged and on bail. I find it difficult this will be dealt with through the courts by mid November.

Yeah they can

If they charge him will be a long time

There is a lot more to this both before and after

CPS will charge they love stuff like this

He should absolutely go to the ashes though

People judging a 30 second clip with absolutely no context

Rushing to judgements such a poor quality

The irony...

You've judged the whole way through this thread on both he incident and other people's opinions on the matter - telling people how right are wrong they are like you're the CPS.

Not the first time the players will have been out mid-series and would be surprised if it was the first time there was some sort of bother. The fact there is evidence of ABH whether in self-defence or not makes it a far more serious case than just saying 'will take him to the ashes'..

No I haven't

People entitled to their view

But nobody including me can judge it off that video

That's not the point

Nothing will happen before the end of ashes if it's serious. Which I agree it could be

He should be in big bother. Self defence only applies when reasonable force is returned.

The lad is walking away. Throwing no punches. He wants more and goes after the other lad too.

Hailes booting people in the head while on the floor is the ultimate act of a coward. Both should be hammered in terms of their sporting roles. If that was one of us on camera. We would be nicked by now.
Terrible that marra, totally agree.

Irrespective of what happens, it's utter manna from heaven for the Aussie press/public.

It's a good job they won't capitalise on a Kiwi born English cricketer losing his cool and facing potential jail sentence...especially when there was a fit of Victorian moralising over here when Warner lamped Root.

Conveniently the video starts at a point of Stokes going after him. For any context the whole video should be publsihed but this may not help their agenda of hammering anyone in the public eye for clickbait

it doesn't like, it starts with a bloke going after one stokes' group with a bottle

That would be self defensive but the video continues and it's clear that stokes enters into the constant aggressor. A lawyer would have a field day with him.
The whole thing depends on whether the injured party wishes to make a complaint. The crown could prosecute without a complainent but I think they would be on dodgy ground

on the sun? it is at the point that stokes pushes him and the clocks him

at work so I can't watch it again but seen it this morning off the sun website and seen a bloke going for one of them with a bottle before stokes starts anything. that's how I remember it anyhow, perhaps I'm wrong

No they will most likely edit it for their front page headline.

I begrudgingly went on their site mind. would prefer not to

He will complain. Probably earn a few quid by doing so.
Get Botham down and put the squeeze on him to shut up lol

Unfortunately it's not self defence when the other blokes are walking backwards away from him and he still lumps him and then goes for the second one.
He could quite easily play the 'I was intimidated card and it was fight or flight', personally if someone was swinging a bottle at me and they walked 5 yards away from me, I wouldn't be so sure they weren't gonna come back for more and hit me from behind to just turn away.

Gan on Stokesy lad

I think it is.

If someone is of the mindset of wanting to glass you then you need to end it

Why does the video start there.

It's The Sun

I'd put money on there being more provocation

If someone was trying to glass my mate, too right I'd want to make sure he was in a position where he couldn't do it again
This.

What?

If he complains he will go to jail

He tried to glass someone mate

You don't seem to realize how serious that is

He would get longer than stokes

Normal thing would be that Stokes would make a counter-complaint so the other lad gets locked up. both agree to drop charges and life continues.
