Absolute f***ing bollocks that like.

Good knock from Graham Clark again. Important part of our batting line-up for 2018, hope he can kick on from the promising season he's had.

Then I'll re phase it then . Burnham has shown nothing this season to suggest he is good enough at this level. They are obviously taking a punt on his potential. In my opinion (and I'm due one mind) Hickey offers with the bat and the ball and I think he is a better prospect.
If DCCC could only afford to keep one of these players then I would of kept Hickey.
You may not agree but it isn't bollocks.

I'd have kept Hickey too but given that we've got Pringle and Trevaskis, if it had to be Burnham or Hickey, it would always have been the former. A real shame though. He might come again if he shines in local cricket.

Perhaps you should've said that first, because it's a very different argument saying you'd have picked Hickey over Burnham, to saying Burnham isn't First Class standard.

Would you reconsider your opinion when I tell you he's only played 7 Championship games this year, as he broke a thumb early on? His average and his runscoring hasn't been great this year granted, but bearing in mind it's only his second season, after being given his head in 2016. Plus, he has the fifth best average amongst our batsmen. So with that in mind he'd be in the team on form on that basis.

I am gutted Hickey has gone like. You never know, the club may be prepared to get him in the seconds while he's making his comeback from injury and if he performs he'll be offered a deal. I do get the feeling the Hickey situation (as bad as it's been handled) has been dealt with purely on a cost saving basis.

I've watched Jack Burnham closely over the last few years and I don't think he has the technique to bat in the top 4. He plays across the line of the ball too much and is often bowled or LBW. Hope I'm wrong mind. Like everyone I want the local lads to do well.

PS not sure what's gone wrong with these posts.

you lot have made a car crash of this thread mind

I think I've been fairly clear on my feelings on burnham so I'm not going to go over them too much.

I had hoped the responsibility of moving up the order may bring out the best in him but signing latham and smith back means it's more likely he'll move down the order and hopefully that helps him out but he just doesn't seem like he takes it seriously enough. nice lad I'm sure but missing the grit imo, no inside track just purely judging by what I've seen of him. bit too casual

Your spot on with playing across the line, he has got to get back to hitting the ball straight back down the ground. Not sure if that has crept in with all this one day cricket.

Worcestershire promoted.

Trevaskis gets his first run in FC cricket after pringle departs for 2

149-6 isn't looking great in reply to 335

Think this one is going to be a loss unless the weather intervenes - but in honesty, I think we've all got eyes elsewhere.

If Hampshire go down and Notts stay down, I'm not arsed really if we do lose a dead rubber......

Isn't Burnham a Brandon lad? He's been absolutely shite this season.
