It would be, but it's demoralising to see the (inevitable) responses on here. One thing that's always been a big obstacle with SAFC fans is just the apathy and cynicism which permeates everything, people would literally just stop caring or even take the piss than fight for their club.

Its about going in small steps mate, i just switched my own twitter on and their is already someone sharing this with his contacts, so its already under way.. give it a couple of days.. and your numbers will sky rocket.. ;)

10 hours ago. By tomorrow it might be up to half a dozen then.

Don't think they can grasp that for Short to leave there needs to be a willing buyer prepared to take the club off him, a club that loses £30m a year.
People obviously know that but it won't stop people wanting him gone

There's some great content on that page.

Some people may not want Short out. Or may not want to join a facebook group wanting Short out. That's ok.

If you want to win people over to your cause, calling them apathetic and piss-takers won't do it very quickly.
But there is an apathy with Sunderland supporters. The majority of us are just happy to wallow in the shit that Short has led us into. Apathy will kill us, at least some form of protest might affect some change, doing nothing will definitely have no effect whatsoever.

This.

I get it why people laugh at the idea of a facebook page, yes, it is obvious it cannot "get him out", but it will do and what it is intended to achieve is to build unity and solidarity amongst fans so that bigger things can from it.

I'll give it a like if you change it to 'short and Grayson out'

This. Don't want him out for the sake of it.

It's like buying a dog off your mate that they tell you they love but has outgrown them. They're a lovely animal that can have pups you can sell every few years and you'll be a hero. Then you buy the dog, find out it needs thousands of pounds worth of operations every few months and because the kids love it, you know, you can't just put the poor thing down. So you try to find it a new home but nee one else wants it. So instead of these regular operations to keep it right, you just bung it a load of painkillers( which actually cost more than the operations would) and in the end you resent the little fucker but won't give it to a shittier home. Or summit. I dunno.

That's because, despite what you think, not all fans think trying to force Short out is the best course of action.

A Facebook page liked by 2 people puts no pressure on the club and my point still stands about needing to find a buyer prepared to take on a business that loses £30m a year before Short can leave.
And would they have to pay the one hundred and ten million debt?

Yes, there may will be. But I think the way to win people over to the cause is to explain why the people on that page want Short out in a reasoned way. Not shouting about piss-takers and apathy.

Gonna make a facebook page to save the dog in your profile picture.

Get a vote up then to see how many fans want to keep Ellis Short against the people who want him gone.
