New Music Releases Thread

Tomorrow's new stuff: Mogwai and LCD Soundsystem both mentioned previously in the thread and much anticipated here. Beyond them: Cloud Control, Joan Osborne, Hercules & Love Affair, OMD, Motorhead (a covers album), The Knife (a live album), The Script (woohoo!), Starsailor (eeyore!), Pains of Being Pure at Heart (actually being released this time, hopefully!), Walter Trout, The Surfing Magazines, The Rails and Mark Olson.

I'm off to End of the Road first thing tomorrow (means I miss Slowdive and The Moonlandingz, as they're on tonight, which kind of sucks) so probably won't give this lot a once over until early next week.
"Kind of sucks"?

Are you in a 90s American RomCom?

No mate. I recently watched that sky arts series with Brian Johnson presenting 'a life on the road' and seemed a nice guy and a canny presenter. So was just flicking through music and away I went.

Av just read he retired from ac/dc 2016 because of hearing problems.

Early stuff with the previous singer is their best work but plenty of good stuff with Johnson for you to enjoy.

The new Roddy Woomble solo album is out tomorrow too.

You definitely need to listen to the 1970s albums - Dirty Deeds, Highway to Hell etc.

Nah I haven't either, didn't even know there was a music venue around there, though have heard the name before. Bizarely the official afterparty for this gig (with Ty) is at the Shacklewell Arms which is miles away.

Wadn't dare go south of the river with the peasants.
Closing soon so looking forward to checking it out. You don't need a Black Lips ticket for 24/11 at same venue do you?

Working steadily through new releases in between eatching sport and catching up with TV. So far:

The War on Drugs: I like it. Bigger sound than previously. The 11 mins+ 'Thinking of a Place' is quite wonderful!
Angelo de Augustine: one for the Sufjan fans amongst us. Fragile voiced lo-fi songs, quite charming and very brief.
Gogol Bordello: same sort of thing as they usually do but with more female vocals. The closing track 'Still That Way' is a keeper!
Ian Felice: missed from my list of new releases (which is criminal for a Felice Brothers fan). Officially a solo album but it sounds very much like the first couple of Felice Brothers albums, from when Simone Felice was producing and doing some singing. Unsurprisingly, Simone Felice has returned to the fold to a degree to produce this.

TWOD it feels a bit like their urban hymns album to me, its the big shiny one that i think might well get them more mainstream airplay
