Attention Turns to Mo Farah

I've nothing but huge admiration for Murray, he's a phenomenal sportsman and role model. Whilst I respect your opinion, he's not now, has been or will be the player Federer is.
This is my problem with Murray being our greatest, he may well be and there is a big argument to back it up but I just don't want to admit that Switzerland have a greater sportsman than us.

It wasn't an opinion, she stated a fact. Whether he is the best player in the world or not, he is currently ranked the number 1 in the world. He may well lose that position next week mind after pulling out of the Rogers Cup and Nadal may take that position.

It may be fact that Murray is currently ranked 1. It is also a fact he is not as good as a player as Federer.
An on form Federer beats an on form Murray every day of the week.

Great athlete, but will forever be a question mark hanging over him unfortunately
Yes you are right about that......in his earlier days he ha no kick or speed.... would always be passed by a bloke with a crutch on the last lap........he was hopeless!......however his training programme is relentless so i prefer to think his improvement is down to hard work.....others may dffer!.....the concern i have is that his training is so tough ...how did he avoid injury?

No, what you stated is opinion.

Ok, let's say someone somewhere agrees with you and that Murray is better than Federer and he genuinely is the best tennis player in the world.
He's still however not better than Farah, Farah wins every big race every time. He's unbeatable over every distance he runs. Murray loses more than he wins unfortunately.

Not saying Farrah is doping but there are clear questions regarding Salazar.
Might not be popular to raise the issue but there is more to come on the Oregon Project
Missed a few drug tests as well - couldn't hear the doorbell from his bedroom was one reason given.

@Arkle you watching this evening? Needed a World Championships thread and this is taking my vote!

Missus just asked me a question I couldn't answer like. What if an athlete is transgender?
I suppose it wouldn't matter if a bird became a bloke as they'd not beat the blokes in any events would they?
Bloke becoming a bird I suppose would be a whole different proposition. I suppose once they legally become a bird they could compete other wise it would be discrimination against the bloke/bird

I suppose it's how much people read into the amazing upturn in performance since he went with Salazar/ Oregon, and the whole conspiracy thing surrounding nikes training camp

Wasn't there a male tennis player who posed as a female back in the day? Did OK IIRC but wasn't a world beater. Otnof a scandal.

And then we have the east European and Soviet bewers with all kinds of male hormones to give them an edge. I saw a documentary about these lasses who are all in bad shape now with a multitude of problems.

its been done before (and not in a Castor Semanya type of way)

there was a german 'bird' in the 30's or 40's who turned out to be a bloke (not sure whether they were transgender or just a case of blatant cheating)

There was a transgender female tennis player in the 70s or 80s called Renee Richards. Born as Richard Raskind.

Mo having a go at the media now, if he didnt want his reputation tarnished perhaps he shouldnt have selected a world famous drugs and doping coach.
