You didn't feel envious in the early to mid 2000s? when we had the likes of Southgate, Ehoigh, Ziege, Mendieta, Zenden, Juninho, Viduka, Boksic etc winning a cup, playing in Europe.

You were getting record low points totals.
No I didn't. Not when loads of wankers I worked with were travelling over to Europe to see them. Same as I didn't when I was working on Tyneside and we had Mick Buxton and they had Keegan et al.
I thank the Lord I support Sunderland AFC.

Still would be disappointed if we finish below boro.
(like last year).
You'd better prepare for more disappointment.
They will be 10 points minimum ahead of us.
Still think Fulham will nail one of the top 2 slots.
Sheff Wed won't be far off either - disapptd Lees didn't go to Burnley as he and Loovens look rock steady as a cb pairing in the pub league.
Not convinced Reading will mount a strong challenge this time around tho.

Forget Derby, Norwich, Brum, Forest, Cardiff, Barnsley, Sheff U, Bolton, Millwall, Hull, Brentford Burton Ipswich , Br City, PNE.

Boro will defo be in the mix as will Villa.
Wolves could be the ones who surprise us all, and if Leeds hold on to Wood, they could be challenging too.

Just laughable that us on here , are giving it big to boro , FFS man we are skint , we cant buy quality players anymore we are having to scrape around for div1 bargains and unproven kids , like it or not boro are on another level to us .

I was envious of them the day i saw Emmerson strike a ball harder than i ever seen one struck, and nearly take the net of the goal frame, against us, into the Roker end, and then getting congratulated by Juninho and Ravenneli. Yip, was envious that day.

And for those who missed it he provided a replica at the SOL the following season.

* whee's board is this? I've nivver been on anyone else's
* their support is & always has been shite
* boro is, always has been & always will be a shithole
* we've taken more away then they've had at home
* they have NO history
* they don't even like themselves, as said earlier Mmmmillllwwwaa without the history or attitude, no one likes them, not even them

One thing that Middlesbrough lacks and that Sunderland has in spades is the mistaken belief that you are a big club; but you are not. Nobody outside the North East even cares about you. Ok you have history. Your history is better than ours but in football terms it is ancient history and counts for nothing today. Since the last time you won anything in 1973, take a look at our two clubs year on year and you will find that over that period - some 44 years - we come out on top, and over the last couple of decades we have signed players that you could only dream of. The reason for that is that we are better run, and we are seen as a more attractive prospect; a bigger draw.

thats bullshit , you aren't " A BIGGER DRAW' , and never will be.
You can afford to pay inflated fees and wages , thats your "DRAW" as you put it.

Good chairman - yes. Better squad at the moment - possibly. Bigger draw? You're having a laugh!!

What you call inflated wages is what everyone else regards as the going rate in today's market but you do know that it takes more than just money to attract good players

Yes you would love to believe that wouldn't you? It would make you second best club in the NE instead of your current standing. But really, apart from your ancient history, Sunderland have nothing that the Boro would envy. You are stranded between a city with true class and a football club that is regarded as big by any measure, and a small town club that makes bigger waves than you.

Still think we'll finish higher than them

Whoopy f***ing do they spent £15million on a striker

People on here were wetting themselves on here cause they signed Rhodes & negrado last season

Tbf you kept saying we'd finish higher than them last season yet we didn't and they did the double over us.

Never thought I'd see the day when i look at the smoggies and feel slightly envious.
Sad times. Lets hope we don't sink any further.
Top 10 finish would be all we can hope for IMHO.
Can you not remember when they signed Ravanelli, Emerson and Juninho? I was envious as fuck when that happened. They were still a shit club with a tinpot stadium and poor attendances though.
