Starts this Thursday at Royal Birkdale. Who are you putting money on? I'm going for

Rahm
Hatton
Fleetwood

Weather is expected to be mingin.

John Rahm looking a good bet. Going well in practice today. Fleetwoods home course could give him a chance like.

I wood have been in with a shout but I'm in hospital unfortunately. Can't putt my op off anylonger. Next slot is December and that's a fairway away and the meds have got me feeling rough as fuck.

It was a bit rough at times during the Irish Open and he handled the conditions very well. Would love to see Poulter win, he's certainly playing well enough.

I love seeing Poulter play in the Ryder cup but in other tournaments he always seems a bit too desperate to get himself on the telly even if he is on +4 or whatever , not sure he has what it takes for a Major.

I agree, Ryder cup, match play suites him. Putting 4 rounds together in a major seems a step too far unfortunately. Looking forward to it..

The price that Rory is kicking about is mental. If he clicks on a course like Birkdale then the bookies will be paying out by the end of Friday.

If he doesn't click then they will have my money by the end of Friday.

I don't think he will get one now in all honesty. He's a long way behind many of the top players in just about every category. The good thing about golf though is it has the ability to surprise you. Darren Clarke immediately springs to mind.

I hope you're wrong as this will be the first major in a long time I haven't backed him.

Apparently he is way off form in practice.

Unfortunately the way their set up the open and refusing to play of two tee start from the 10th like they do in the other majors, means it can be down to who gets the best draw rather than who is the best player, then have the cheek to call him 'champion golfer of the year' !!

Speith, Rose or Grace I am backing, all in the morning draw on the first day.

Probably the first I have had on him as I don't like short prices. Purely backed on price, his form is horrendous as everyone knows.
