Norwegian airlines

Anyone used them before? I've just noticed they now fly to the US from
Edinburgh and London for less than half the price of the next cheapest airline. What's the catch?

Im flying Edinburgh to Oslo with them in a few weeks so will report back. They have a brand new fleet of the most fuel efficient planes which will keep their prices down.

That's what I'm thinking. Even during peak season you can get a return to JFK for less than £350. Maybe their baggage costs is £200 per person?

You pay for everything separately: baggage, seat reservation, meals. A checked bag is $60, so probably 35-40 pounds. They also fly a lot of narrowbodies across the ocean, although I think LGW-JFK is all 787s.

You'll be fine. With the decline in cabin service in coach class within Europe, they're the same as everyone else.

Flew LGW to Arlanda a few years ago. It was cheaper than Easyjet or Ryanair (forget which) which dropped you at an airport about 50 miles away (Vasteras).

They were canny like.

They quite often come up as the cheapest flight from the Costas to LGW. The downside is it's usually via Copenhagen or Oslo and takes best part of a day.

Is Norwegian the airline that says they have flights to New York but the airport they use is camel hike away from NYC?
