Eh?! Look at Ian Wright as an example. Had 6 good years at Palace. Went to Arsenal. Stayed there until he was 35 and then dropped down the leagues.

He came from non league
He only scored 8 goals in his first season. It took him a good 3 seasons to be a prolific championship striker.

Anyway ive said my piece

Talk about changing the goalposts you said Vaughan was bang average with 14 goals at that level.

When Leeds signed Woods he had scored 5 league goals in 2 seasons. He wasnt the hot prospect you are dying to describe he was a gamble much like Vaughan will be.

I have brought Woods into it as you would be moaning about us signing him if this was A Leeds forum circa 2015

Drogba Di Natale Ferdinand Wright plenty of strikers develop late.

I haven't changed any goal posts. I think you should clearly read my posts - nowhere have I said that was good. More is the point I've said it was average in the Championship and highlighted the fact that is the best Vaughan has done at that level, whilst Wood has bettered it twice and scored a similar amount twice and he's only 25 now!

f***ing give over. Woods wasn't the same level of gamble Vaughan is  In his last full season at Leicester he scored only four league goals and was sub shitloads as Leicester had Vardy and Nugent as regulars starters (only half of his games at Leicester was as a starter). He was 22 at the point the season ended. He then played a few games in the PL for Leicester and a handful at Ipswich on loan - 8 with 5 actually being as sub. The season before Leicester's promotion he'd scored 20 goals at Leicester and Millwall aged 21 at the end of the season.

If it was circa 2015 with Woods we'd be signing 24 year old player who had a few indifferent loan spells, but had a season of not really playing due to his club being promoted and signing a couple of forwards. Before that he'd scored 4, 20 and 12 goals in his previous three full Championship seasons and wouldn't be coming to us with an injury littered career and having had to step down to League One at 27/28.

I'm not pissing me pants before he signs or has played 10 games ta very much.:lol:

As said previously - I have no problems with him signing. I do not trust the people at the club to make the two or three signings in this area though, so having to rely on Vaughan worries me.
