Welcome Simon Grayson

He's a very good talent spotter, which is good if you're on a tight budget. We've got ourselves another Mick McCarthy in a nutshell.

Daryl Horgan is the next sensation to come from League of Ireland, had a fantastic first 6 months at Preston
Seanie Maguire touted to be the next Robbie Keane due to arrive at Preston this weekend.
Our very own Jordan Pickford he took on for a season.

Also can get the best out of has-beens for a good chunk of a season - Beckford and McGeady spring to mind.

Expect to be linked with in-form players from Ireland/Scotland, he loves youth talent spotting and has a great record at it.

He is a good long-term Manager, fans cannot afford to have a go at him straight away
Now that's even more depressing. Hard times ahead it seems.

A mid table Championship manager and a failed takeover. Depressing as hell!

It's f***ing seriously depressing mate. I actually can't believe how much shite we've had to endure. It's just one body blow after another. We literally have no good news, none. It's a constant shit storm.

I think he's a crap appointment. Utterly unimaginative and underwhelming

Is he that different to Moyes? Both are dour buggers as far as I can see

This. It's a shocking appointment. We really are scraping the barrel.

What are his credentials? I find everyting about him uninspiring and average even for the Championship.

Stop being so negative.

Plenty of people on here expected a Champion's League, FA Cup, UEFA Cup, Coppa Italia and La Liga winning manager to struggle in the Championship last year with Newcastle because he'd never worked with that standard of football.

Simon Grayson however is well travelled in the world of lower leage football so he should be a far better choice than Benitez.

I expect you to win the league without losing a single game and you'll smash the record points total too.

Anything less would be embarrassing tbh.

Why is that depressing? Mick's promotion saved us from administration, fuck the fact we finished 15 pts the season after, its that we even managed to be there what was nearly impossible.

Some fans really need a good reality kick up the arse.

Plus the little talent we had left/is leaving.
We really couldn't get any lower. Maybe only Administration will beat this situation.

He looks a mess and has no eyes but I think he might do an ok job.
Doubt he'll get much backing like and with the mass exodus of players and staff he's got quite a job on his hands.

I'm not optimistic for other reasons but let's give him a chance. Can't be worse than moyes

Im actually really happy with this appointment, completely different character to Moyes. I dont think any of these players will intimidate him. My only reservations are what he is going to be like in the transfer market
Ellis' wet dream; free transfers and bargain bin type signings probably. If they work out then I'd be over the moon of course, but we shall see.

Much rather Grayson than Mcinnes who failed at Bristol city

Least Grayson decent at this level he's got my full support if he joins

McCarthy is a shite/average Championship manager, worse than Roy Keane.
