It also has an almost solidly black back. The no stripes thing is effecting them too by the looks of it.

The reason they are messing about is because they know its going to cause up roar amongst the supporters because its going to be a Red version of the Le Coq sportif shirt from the 80's, whoever signed it off should get out of the club now.
They gona comeout with some bull shit about keeping the tradition of the red and white stripes as it is in the turnover of the socks
Why didnt Bain gan the full hog and have us playing in his beloved Rangers blue.
 
Ahhh I remember when I used to get excited about a new kit. Think it stopped when I realised I'm not a child anymore.

All joking aside, if it is similar to the LCS top of the 1980s, then they know it will have the fans in such a state of apoplexy. And they might just want that to divert other issues involving lack of money and further redundancies and to bury bad news. Not a new technique.
 
It could be a red band across the top for the Player name, rather than the whole back of the shirt. We had something similar under Diadora or Lonsdale

It sounds like it is going to look like the Brentford strip from 1989...... f***ing awful. I wouldn't be buying one for me anyhow, but may for my kids, so it makes no real difference to me but I like our traditional stripes.

If they've mucked about with it to the point it's become a version of the Le Coq Sportif then it's a total disgrace. One of the things we have left is the tradition of our home shirt being red and white stripes, and for someone in the club to sign this off (if true) is a shocker.
