Success Based on Youth Development

You could add both McCartney and Colback to the list somewhere.
Don't wind me up man ffs!
Quinn's greatest achievement was getting money for MCCartney then Keane wanted him bringing back ffs! He'd been talking of quitting the game until Thomas Butler had a word iirc. He soon found out what life was like in the real world before coming back to the pro football. The McCartney return was the moment I realised the magic carpet was rudderless.
Colbacks a struggler in the top flight which tbh is about par for the course with the majority of our youth products that do get to play up there.

It seems so obvious that this is the best route for clubs our size. All it really takes is a couple of players you've brought through to have a good season and you can cash in for £40m upwards.

We've brought only a couple of decent good money assets thru in the 12 years or so the academy has been going.

Pickford & Henderson.

Ginger Piss Biscuit went for nowt and has hardly been ripping up trees.

They've both played 100+ top flight games though and, if we hadn't screwed up, we'd have got a decent fee for Colback. McCartney did pretty well for West Ham. Neither was anywhere near top 6 quality but nor were some of the top row of your initial list.

Thats actually better than I thought, how many clubs have bettered that? Boro had a name for producing kids a few years ago, Man U had a great crop a few years ago, which clubs produce the most? Crewe? Is there a league table anywhere
It's summit like a match day squadsworth ower 50 yrs!
I've no idea if it's average or owt but one every 2:5-3yrs wouldn't keep a top flight club stocked with own brand players if that's its policy.

One of the problems is that as we're always struggling in the top flight it's difficult for a manager to blood kids. Utd manage it as they're at the top and only do it to up the price of em when they sell em. Soton manage it as they're comfortably mid table.

Recently, it's probably Southampton: Bale, Lallana, Walcott, Ward-Prowse, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Chambers, Shaw.

Thats quite an amazing amount of money there

Our last manager didnt really help, even after relegation playing the stiffs and not giving the kids a chance

When he has coached at Valencia like? Playing twenty odd games in La Liga twenty years ago isn't exactly a foundation for knowledge on the European game, especially not where coaching and scouting is concerned. The game's moved on.

I loved Stefan Schwarz when he was here, and it's great he still has affection for the club, but he hasn't exactly done much in the last 15 years apart from working with kids in Sweden, and we've already signed some of them, and they were crap.

I said he shouldn't have anything to do with on field activities. He has conceded as much himself by consulting with Walter Smith. The reason he is cited in conjunction with Moyes is because he steadfastly backed him when a blind man on a galloping horse could see he was buying cronies to strengthen his position and not the team. This on top of his comments that we must make a profit on players more often. how many of his and Davys buys will we make a profit on?
No you didn't.

You said he was brought in to "cut costs only", nothing else.

Unfortunate then that we are shite at developing young players as a club.

Quite unforgivable really when you consider how passionate the area is about football.
We have had some fantastic youngsters who have just for whatever reason not taken that final step! You cannot tell me it's their fault every time.

He's not even fuckin' sure himself.

Only go by what I read. Tried to gig a bit deeper but there isn't a lot on his WIKI page. He has got a linkedin account though so if you're registered on there maybe you could find out for definite.

a weak choice. I see the goodwill in it, but it's a disaster waiting to happen. I'm all for blooding the youth through, but we need experience at the helm.

Go right through the coaches at all levels on the Valencia site - he's not there. The lad was there as a player for one season twenty years ago. His coaching career has been spent in Sweden.
