would be an absolute nothing appointment
just what we need to raise morale for next season
Somebody you could relate to? This isn't a romcom FFSWe would if we had someone we could relate to or someone who has a decent record and experience in the league we are in.
As I said last week when we were being linked with players I didn't know about, they'll get my backing until I see enough to say otherwise. An appointment like Mciness would be the same and I'd rather go for him than one of the tracksuit brigade of the merry-go-round.
Nor does the fact that our resident Aberdeen fan @Wearside Wanderer II doesn't think that he'd be up to the job.A 27% win percentage with Bristol City in The Championship doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.
he says on there 'I'm not very good at picking managers'Bain will be hearing this

Like I keep saying he's been a manager for 10 years and 9 of those years have been successful. He took over Bristol City when they were adrift at the bottom and saved them - the next year they were bottom again and he was sacked. Overall he appears to have been a good manager - virtually every manager mentioned - Monk, Pearson, Karanka - has been sacked at sometime. If it is him we can either look at the positives are dwell on the negative - you can guess who will look at the negatives. BTW who did Dave Angel used to be on here? He's another one of those aggressively negative posters you get on here, never happier than being outraged.
Yeah, someone who makes me feel all warm inside.Somebody you could relate to? This isn't a romcom FFS
This would mean Karanka should be the obvious appointment since he had success in the league bringing boro up. Don't see many shouting his name?
McInnes had a poor stint but still an experience in the league he likely learned from... he headed back north and got his bearings straight. Not sure he can be completely written off based on his time at Bristol. Anyone w/ an untarnished track record likely won't be coming.... he is young w/ some experience and likely very hungry to prove he can succeed in this league. His past failure may give added motivation/energy that is desperately needed after moyes and his "I have nothing to prove" demeanor.
I'd largely agree with this (my only gripe is a 5 year contract could just mean a big pay off).My critieria for a manager is, above all else, someone who actually wants to commit to being at the club and living in the area.
I'm sick to death of managers who openly signal to the players that they're not committed and just 'pop in' when it suits them.
Di Canio had his faults but he was openly passionate about SAFC and the supporters ...... Moyes was just a parasite who sucked the life out of everyone.
Whoever we appoint needs to be given a 5 year contract and allowed to build a team, not just a collection of players who obviously don't have their heart in the club.
Perfecthe says on there 'I'm not very good at picking managers'![]()

But the new manager definitely needs to relocate to the area. None of this "I'll pop up Thursday and Friday" malarkey.
We are not some part time role. We deserve and need full time management, first hand management.

McInnes has brought great success to Aberdeen with an intense style of play that puts pressure on the opponents. They press high up the pitch and snap into tackles, while they're also not afraid to get the ball in the box from wide areas.
That sounds like a Kevin Ball model. How well do Aberdeen keep the ball?McInnes has brought great success to Aberdeen with an intense style of play that puts pressure on the opponents. Weren't they adrift at the bottom or something when he took over? Suggests they weren't exactly one of the better sides in the division.A 27% win percentage with Bristol City in The Championship doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.
