Seen the price of a gram of coke man? I couldn't afford a coke habit and my job is half decent.

I started off on the slippery, but extremely enjoyable, slope back end of last year. Could have gone badly wrong and lost all my earnings. Fortunately I recognised the danger and changed job location. I now work fewer hours at a more leisurely pace. I spend my spare time doing stuff that most people would class as vey boring, so I won't detail on here, but I am much happier.

I'd be happy never to work in London again.

f***ing stupid idea. Now if I fancy a couple of tabs with a drink, I end up with 18 tabs left instead of just 8. That's only going to encourage me to smoke more.

Over £10 a pack now. I packed in 5 years ago and it was just north of £7 I think and even then I thought it was excessive. Mad how people will still pay that much.

I used to buy a few looseys and a bottle of wine when i was younger from the local pakistani shop. He used to ask me to hide the wine under my school blazer till i was away from the shop.

Used to do than inside the shop

no they won`t, they`ll go to the shops selling hooky packs of Jin Lings or mayfair for £3 or 50g duty free baccy for £12. Costing christ knows how much in lost tax revenue,police/trading standards/HMCE raids ,jobs through lower sales in legit retailers and higher NHS cost in treating the increase due to all the extra shite in hooky fags

To be fair, it is my job.

...and that's okay. People talk about paying tax as if it's the worst thing in the world.

I'm happy to pay more tax in a post-tobacco world if it means cutting out HUGE numbers of premature deaths. The world will be a better place.
.
Then you can pay even more tax for all the extra pensions. ;)
