It was the first fish shop to publish where/when/what ship the fish was caught so you know how fresh it is. That was a gamechanger for me.

Do you believe it? Do they change it half way through service or do they get just enough off a boat to do a full service? I really hope it's real but I'm sceptical.

Do they change what halfway through service. I honestly have no idea what there is to be sceptical of tbh.

If they say the fish comes off X boat what when that supply runs out, do they change a black to now say it comes from boat b? I really hope it's all as it seems.

Its pretty simple stock management to be fair. All good restaurants do the same so it was amazing to see a chippy doung it imo. They tell you what boats the fish of today was bought from, update it when they buy more and when they run out of a fish they take it off the menu. Sometimes there's 5 or 6 boats listed.

That tremendous, having been in the restaurant trade there is a lot of bollocks spouted, it's great to hear it's been done correctly.

My brother in law works there and reckons they can be buying in 3 or 4 lots in a day. He's worked in restaurants all his life and has nothing but praise for colmans.

Its amazing how many people in shields are bitter about the place. Its the price of being successful i suppose.

I've never been, I really must go.

I paid £12 for a chicken burger & chips in a Beefeater yesterday and it was a disgrace, so it's all relative.

I paid about £15 in a Slug & Lettuce for a cheeseburger and chips about 4 years ago. Was nowt more than 3/10 and certainly nowt fancy.

Large cod and chips in most pubs would cost nigh on a tenner, but a lot of people look at the low grade stuff you get in a Spoons for £6-7 and compare it with that.
