U2 Joshua Tree 30th Anniversary Tour

Only got offered seats and I turned them down for Dublin.

Got no where near for Amsterdam

I ended up being greedy and grabbed a couple of GA tickets for Dublin the morning after I got the Amsterdam ones.

Mind, I have nowhere to sleep for the two nights we are there mind you. ha ha. Prices are pretty crazy and booking i tried to make late last week came back at the weekend as not able to be secured so its back to the drawing board of trying to find something for less than £200 a night!!! :-O

Lad at work paid to join the fan club inTuesday (£40 or £50 - cannot remember what he said) to get access to the pre-sale. Didn't try to buy tickets until Friday and all the standing tickets had gone and most of the seating

He is trying to get a refund now

Harsh as it sounds..... its his own stupid fault if he didnt try to get the FC tickets until Friday!!!

Personally, I don't like the fact that the tour was announced and people were still able to sign up for the FC to get access to the pre-sale. Clearly its a commercial decision to make more coin which I understand, but doesnt sit comfortable with me at all. But U2 are far removed from their fan base and have been for a long time now.

I agree although the earlier subscribers had priority. As a long time fan I've never seen the benefit of FC's but I joined on Tuesday purely to get Thursday presale option as advertised so that's an extra $50 they got from me. Apparently I get a CD 'if stocks last':lol:

Completely agree. I asked him why he didn't buy them on the Wednesday when they went on sale and he said he thought he would be guaranteed one with him paying for the fan club.

Anyway, he'll be happy coz they've released another date at Twickenham so should get some for that.

Depends on the band, cost and benefits along with how much you are into a band really I suppose.

U2 for me charge a premium for it but at least you now get good presale access and its meant I got good tickets for two dates. Plus the "free" gifts from them have been pretty good actually especially the players this laat yr.

Pearl Jam club has always been well worth it for Euro based fans, maybe less so for USA based where their gigs are always way over subscribed. Decent vinyl record most years plus the presale access is usually for some of the best tickets in the venue and if its GA they allow earlier entry to FC ticket holders. Few times I have gone seats and have had brilliants locations especially in Manchester where I was second row by the side of the stage.

Is there no rumours of a European tour and or new album this year? It's been a while..,.

If he only joined the fan cub on tuesday he wouldn't have been entitled to the wednesday sale. he should have been on shit hot on the thursday like.

Doesn't seem to be much kicking about at the minute. But there rarely is with them until near announcing anything. Looks unlikely to be any summer gigs as they're usually announced by now.
Be surprising if they don't so something somewhere though as can't remember many years where there's not be a tour somewhere.

hope to get tickets next week, saw them at wembley for the 360 tour, ticketmaster was an absolute joke this morning, all gone in 5 minutes but thousands on ticketmasters re-sell site at 10x face value. I miss the days of queeing outside a venue waiting to get tickets.
