Rub the Achilles area for couple mins after run to break up scar tisssue , use foam roller on calfs , eccentric heel drops for 5mins every day , make sure you're not running in flat racers all the time .
Good luck and hope you run well

psoas ? Ive had that and its a bugger to get rid of unless you take quite a bit of rest - even the stretch isn't easy and getting it massaged is a beast of a job !! Good luck.
Yip, stomach isnt too bad. Groin/abductor always tight while running now. Darent do any strength core stuff in case it goes. How long did it take u? Any tips mate? Cheers

Thanks pal, training has been going really well but has been intense with club sessions so just need to keep in check over the taper

Had stomach muscle strain which goes on to pelvis and connected to groin, still struggling with tight groin, 6 weeks out more or less and lost all fitness built up over winter, how annoying.
Didn't realise you were out mate , you will soon get that fitness back , trust me I'm
King of the comebacks .. why not go see superkev as he's your neck of woods for a run down and advice . Hope you get it sorted

I totally lost my mojo mate and just gave up , too injury prone, then went to see a bloke last week at coxhoe who dan and magicrat recommended , got a few Physio exercises to do and yesterday went for my first run for months, only 10 mins on track nice n flat, try again in 2or3 days. Was just gonna pack in but got itchy feet now so fancy getting back at some point as put on a stone , dunno if will race again or may even go down triathlon route , willwait n see if I runagain first though.
This Physio at coxhoe was excellent mind so text me if want details, may only need one visit , nowt worse than when an injury is just dragging on and on

Pleased they helped you mate, I've been dead impressed with them. They weren't just looking to fix me they wanted to make sure it doesn't happen again. I've been pain free running all week, back into proper training next week. Should be out for a little dodge around the sand dancer at shields next Sunday

i rested for around 6 weeks then gradually worked up running again. I find running on trails with their constant changes under foot and undulations ok but if I do say 20 miles on road it still now hurts and its 12 mths since I picked it up. I don't do any core because that still hurts also !! Sorry ive not got a cure other than just being mindful its there - still doesn't stop me running mind.

Trying hard to get back into running, after going through depression for 6 or so months.

I've put on half a stone and feel so unfit, went for a 15 minute run tonight and feel ashamed of how unfit I have become, I used to be a good runner. I'm trying to find my love of exercise again.

That's still 15 minutes longer than everyone sat on their arse managed. It'll come back, just don't try & do too much too soon as that leads to injury.

Just signed up for Dublin marathon at end of Oct. Never ran one before and in the last six months returned to running via park run first now out 3 or 4 times a week and running 8 mile comfortable at 10 min miles. Not quick but I'm happy with it. Any tips on marathon training greatly appreciated.

Did the Dublin marathon 5-6 years ago. Was horrible personally but a really well organised event and really good support most of the way round. Surprisingly hilly in parts but very central in the city.

I run around Durham city centre so some reasonable hills in my runs. Is there any decent web training plans to download there seems a nation of them when I search for them?

I am doing a track session tomorrow evening for the first time in 30 years, should be interesting
