The first puff of tobacco wasn't that enjoyable. Right? In fact it was probably rank but you continued until the tobacco went to work into fooling your body that it was a pleasurable experience....for that is the way tobacco works. Your body still sees the product as a pleasurable experience and this is why you still smoke...occasionally. If you weren't addicted you would take one puff...one....and you would be feeling like vomiting.

Your body did not react violently after one taste to the point where it wanted to wretch to reject the toxins....you just said urrgghh ijn the same way that you might say urrgghh at the taste of marmite - which is good for you - you just didn't like the taste.. But that is another one of my gripes. Bubblegum alcohol - should be illegal. It's a drink for grown ups not for kiddies. If you want strawberry etc...drink pop.

Look. I was stupid enough to become a tobacco addict at a young age and that was in spite of all the evidence available to me even back in the 70s. In spite of the tobacco companies making it out like it wasn't so bad. It serves no purpose other than getting kids addicted - if you don't smoke at age 20 you probably aren't thick enough to become a smoker. That's why smoking adds ooze cool...it fools stupid kids, not adults.

It should be a thing of the past...but it isn't. If anyone wants to be thick like me then go ahead. Free country so far.

My sister's fella is a benefit scrounging two pack a day smoker who spends all day in the pub. One of those cargoes who would absolutely either and die if he had to go a day ... no, a few hours without a tab and a pint.

I just look at him and think 'what a weak as piss waste of skin'. The human body is capable of such a multitude of achievements and this sackless git has got no further thought than to sit there and poison it hour after hour.

How f***ing weak and senseless donyou have to be to be a smoker these days? And while I like an occasional beer or two, how pathetic do you have to be if you can't get through a day without swilling down bucket loads of beer or coffee or whatever just so you can pretend to function?

And now we have vaping to add to the mix. What a load of shite!

I would support those people too by outlawing tobacco use - starting now, for every child starting school this year. By telling them that when they reach 18yrs of age tobacco will be denied to them and every child born after them. Send the message to everyone in this country that tobacco and e-cig use in GB will soon start to become a thing of the past.

If you support the choice to smoke or not it is that choice which will cost lives - and more than probably. Definitely. My way will save lives and I reckon it will also start a global domino effect with other countries making this sensible decision. Even Putin is talking about this at the moment. It will happen eventually - we could be pioneers instead of being dragged into line later on.

Society should be tobacco free. Unlike alcohol which does have some benefits providing it's used properly - the entire...entire point of tobacco is to get kids addicted as young as possible....keep that host addicted until they die of a smoking related disease. There is no other reason for the product to exist. None, nada, niet....zilch.

You're kidding right? I've already covered the 'enjoyment' factor.
Increased heart rate - hardening of arteries - heart less efficient and working harder - raised blood pressure and increased risk of strokes. That's really relaxing that is.

I was a smoker for half of my life started at age 15. I stopped smoking at age 21 due to my grappling where I won my the provincial championship in my weight class. Started again at age 23.

At age 31 I started vaping and have never looked back. Tried one cigarette after and it was not as satisfying.

The downside to vaping is the cost. I spend approximately $300 - $700 on vaping per month but worth every penny.

I'm not sure exactly what you've heard Putin say, but the Russain government run their own big tobacco industry. The same thing is happening in another 12 countries or so right now.

That's not to mention the huge big tobacco companies operating independantly around the world which pay billions in various subsidies to governments.

Smoking is here to stay. There is no debate on choice/prohibition. It does not exist. Higher taxation, no branding, no advertising. It's going nowhere because the people making the money are firmly in control.

Now we have established no one can simply outlaw tobacco, without somehow managing to take on and defeat the global interest behind it. A safer option, CHOICE, surely has to be supported by any level headed person, without a vested interest in making profit from the sale of tobacco, or the salary of a lobbyist against Vaping.

The concerns are that vaping is increasingly being taken up by kids who don't use tobacco. It might reduce tobacco related diseases but there should be a voluntary scheme to restrict sales to folk who smoke rather than get them used to receiving that oral pleasure which isn't going to do them any good.

Tobacco should be made illegal for all kids starting school and then that ban should follow them from that age after that until we are totally tobacco free...vaping included. This should be implemented tomorrow.
