United Airlines - bloke dragged off plane that was overbooked

Lonz, Jardin and one other have been introducing ever more obtuse and irrelevant nonsense to try to argue why this man should have been allowed to hold up an entire flight. It is impossible to make them understand anything.
You are missing everyone's point entirely. All you can do is keep calling people stupid when they're breaking it down in to small bits and spoon-feeding you it.

Your entire contribution to this has been obtuse and irrelevant nonsense to excuse a 69 year old being assaulted.

Obtuse? You mean simple, logical queries? Ones that you still haven't got or produced a reasonable answer too, thus why you are so keen to shout stupid?

I was just pointing out the entire lack of truth in your smug posts. I have won many awards for debating, not that that is relevant. You say this is about debating and I disagree, you are grinding an axe and lack the honesty to accept your motives.
And I'm merely pointing why that's incorrect. Congratulations on your "many awards" for debating.

most you win some you lose.

you could say that if they had only sold twenty seats there and twenty back that they might as well just say we wont operate it until we have enough people. just hang around.. there should be some more passngers in 4 hours..

some fligths cost money
Well I supposed that's why they had the foresight to put the randomly selected passenger clause in. To stop it getting silly. So they can play staff and fly planes.

Take it up with the airlines. Or go by train.

How many times does someone need to call you stupid when you are being reasonable before you might mention it in a post? I'd say he'd been called stupid enough times to qualify

I was just pointing out that using personal insults in no way correlates to the merit of an argument.

The only "point" being made is that they should have offered more and more money. I explained why they don't. You keep banging on that they should anyway.

Perhaps you could just outline any other relevant point that doesn't involve how airlines run their businesses, which would actually be relevant to this specific case.

And yet, it's the airline getting the bad publicity, not the passenger. Tell me how that was a good business decision of theirs again?

What about those points about doing it before boarding or managing their own internal logistics correctly? They seem thoroughly relevant to how airlines run their business.

Anyone claiming they'd happily accept being told to get off a flight they'd paid to board is absolutely full of shit mind. To some they might see the compensation as worthwhile but if they didn't not a chance anyone would just get up after being "randomly" chosen and accept the major inconvenience forced upon them through no fault of their own.

Well there's another point which is, if they're not prepared to pay for the consequences then they shouldn't sell more tickets than the number of available seats on the flight.

In my experience, if all someone can do is repeat that their adversaries are stupid rather than putting some solid logic down on the table, then their argument isn't doing much to hold water.

They followed their procedures properly, and it's really only the standard twitter nonsense that is the problem. Reasonable people will recognise that they could take the $800 and not give a shit about a stubborn person who got himself into a stupid, unnecessary situation.

That wasn't what he was doing. You are a fan of hyperbole and not very tolerant. You also have made yourself prig in this debate. So you disagreed, both of you had good points but you just wouldn't accept that.
