Anyone recommend me a new tv?

Just bought a Samsung quantum dot curved TV and the samsung sound bar- Picture and sound quality is exceptional, depends how much you want to pay really,TV alone was £1700.

£800 is my limit so not much chance of me getting that!

As @PTR and @sima-hebburn said - look at something like the KS7000 for that price.

Just under £800 with 5 year warranty here:

If space isn't an issue the 55inch can be had for a very similar price.

Amazing tv's for the price.

Don't go for cheaper ones as you will be missing out.

The LG's especially in the cheap price range are fake 4k and not true 10 bit panels. They fake it.

Thanks for that. I really do like the sound of that one but I have looked everywhere & can't seem to find out if the remote control is normal or magic. I really want a normal remote control.

You could by getting either the 6 or possibly the 7 series

You get two remotes with it.

One typical, standard type
One is a smart remote that tries to work with everything. It kinda works for me. It's not perfect, but ive never used the other one.

Pm me an email address, if you want photos?

Thanks very much, pm sent.

If you did want to spend close to the whole £800 there this, Lg850v, it's further up the pecking order of the one you were looking at.

I was looking at it myself, but decided to sell a kidney and get one from the OLED range

not bad got Dolby Vision and HDR10 but lag is 48 ms mine is 21ms, depends how geeky/picky he is :D

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2016-the-best-4k-screens-for-hdr-gaming

and mine's(ks7000) black not grey

However, contrast is limited by an IPS panel, which only produces greyish looking blacks and limits dynamic range in mixed contrast scenes. However, viewing angles are generous and this makes the display more suitable for off-axis viewing.

A £400 telly in two years time will have something yours lacks I bet.
Very possibly. Then I've still spent £800-1000 overall, although I'd have a 2 year old telly to sell on for £200. So not a huge saving really.
Plus, I do actually watch 10bit HDR content today, just not all the time

I am looking for a 49" 4k smart TV but there are so many out there I just don't know where to start, my head is absolutely done in reading reviews. Got about £800 but would obviously prefer not to spend that much. All I want is a telly with excellent picture quality.

Anyone got any recommendations?

I was looking at this one but it comes with a magic remote (which I have no idea how to use and a few are complaining about it in the reviews) so would prefer one with a normal remote if possible.

Go with Samsung if you want reliability.

Be careful with this thought. Like I said above it's not a true 10bit panel. It's 8bit with 10bit processing/dithering.

The Samsung ks7000 is better OP, don't be fooled!
