Ranieri has been sacked

Leicester fans have become deluded and self entitled. Instead of just enjoying last season for what it was, a freak miracle, they have instead let their success raise expectations to an unrealistic level.

I think that Leicester got it way too good way too quickly. I remember when Sunderland first got promoted 11 years ago, they were very optimistic times. Especially the first few seasons after promotion. You genuinely feel you can build something and work your way up the league.

Leicter got promoted and had that great escape that the media absolutely wanked themselves to death over. You then did the unthinkable in only your second season.

When you support one of the most otiose teams in the league who have done nothing but stagnate and fester at the bottom of the league, you become pretty disillusioned with football. Fans of clubs like villa, Stoke, West Brom etc.. have all had to endure lengthy spells of mediocrity which can leave you feeling pretty detached from the modern game. It all seems a bit futile at times. You soon realised that even a top 5-6 finish is almost impossible.

The way Leicester have been fast tracked to an impossible level of success has created some really deluded fans. If one of Sunderlands recent managers had won the league I would be disgusted if he was sacked.

I don't buy the whole "you wouldn't be saying that if you were in our shoes" argument. I think it shows a huge lack of awareness/appreciation of what you achieved last year.
Leicester have simply reverted to type this season.

What nonsense you talk, we was crying out for a new centre back, right back, defensive midfielder and an attacking midfielder.

The only place we strengthened out of that lot was a defensive midfielder in N'didi.

What does Ranieri do with the money, signs 2 more strikers, another left winger in Kapustka, areas where we was stacked.

It was only going to cause problems, some games we would play 1 up top, with 4 other strikers either not picked or on the bench

The thought process was shocking, and for a team that won the league by 10 points and now 17th, doesn't that tell you something.

You need to take your blinkers off.

They're going down anyway totally piss poor side

Yeah, a fortnight ago when they were telling Ranieri his job was safe
Mancini is very conservative in his approach iirc. For a team who has scored 1 league goal in two months I'm not sure he'll be what they need. I see a few of them are trotting out "he used to play for us, so will want to come". He had 4 games on loan at age 36, decided to go home to Italy during his loan spell and rang the club to say he wasn't coming back.

You fluked the league. Went on a great run, continued it all season and deservedly won it. Well done Leicester.

However it was a one off. You had one great player (who predictably left for a bigger club), a couple of decent players and the rest just playing out of the norm last season.

Leicester are back where they rightfully should be in the league. Sacking the manager is disgraceful imo after what he managed to achieve with that squad last year. Hopefully Leicester go on to get relegated this year and ranieri has the last laugh.

I hate these "know your place" threads, just a complete lack of ambition and how dare anyone challenge the status quo.

Leicester were the best team in the country by a massive 17pts over a 47 game period. How dare we accept anything other than a relegation battle led by a man who is completely clueless on what to do next.

 Are you of the belief your players should be finishing top half?
You've seriously got carried away with last season if so

And there you go ...... no, you're certainly not getting above yourselves

It's about looking after your club in the long run. No manager is bigger than a club, if their performances drop off to the point of putting the club in the shit then they are always going to be at risk of getting sacked, regardless of what they've done in the past.

Ranieri had given them an excellent platform to build upon, but has very nearly knacked that within 8 months.

Easy from the outside to think it's a disgrace to sack him. However this season Leicester have been utter shit and spent a fortune in being so. Imo they'd have gone down under Ranieri

When the forum's football guru speaks the rest of the SMB should sit up and take notice, you might learn something. @rocky bang on the money AGAIN.

Cryingout for  these players were immortal 6 months ago, apparently.

Surprised so many people are shocked and outraged at this. Obviously watched a different Leicester to me. They were awful. Like I said earlier, not scoring in 2017 simply isn't acceptable.

Looks like some of the senior players went over Ranieris head to get rid of him

They were, but you have to account for injuries and losses of form, something they got fortunate with last season. They needed to strengthen and didn't, it means they now can't rotate players who are bang out of form (the two CBs for example).

Wonder who they've got tapped up?
Which washed up old managers are out there who've just been sacked after losing to the Faroe Islands ?

My guess is someone like that who can make their team of plodders look like footballers again

So if it hadn't happened did he deserve to get sacked for this seasons effort?

Although not giving him the 2nd leg is harsh.

Yeh but he shouldn't be. His argument could be injuries have screwed him, unlike Ranieri
Maybe if Moyes recruited better and selected his better players or his tactics were better. We are bottom because we aren't good enough. I'm not saying Moyes should be sacked, I think he should be giving until the end of the season, just like Ranieri should have been. But to say Moyes shouldn't be sacked but Ranieri should is plain stupid!

By that logic Moyes should be sacked because he made Real Soicedad and Man Utd look awful. Sociedad are now fifth in La Liga with pretty much the same squad.

The thing that gets me is the ones failing on the pitch were the ones moaning and wanting him out, he won them the league ffs I hope they gan down now not to piss offtheir fans but those wanker players.

Those players were a disgrace when we played them. Vardy wanted to be anywhere but the SoL, Simpson just gave up after 15mins when Anichebe and PvA were running the show on the wings. Huth and Morgan stopped caring because they couldn't pull and drag players and had to defend and Mahrez looked lost.

They tried to buy Michael Keane but ended up with a free from Sporting Gijon. Whoever was behind the summer recruitment wants sacking aswell
So no different than most teams in the league. We wanted Iborra but got Ndong. It happens.
