Gone back to Nissan. The recent tour brought all the memories flooding back.

Not bad though for a kid we all thought was a spenk at school. I'm sure pigeon will fly high again.

Dead man walking since Byrne left , he would have been bright enough to see it and plan a future away from the club.

I'd wish him luck but I think he's used his fair share up already.

it was the cafe owned by the club which opened down roker blockyard to big publicity and folded, the scullery is in the building now, a total farce from day 1..GTH was standing arms folded on opening day wearing a cap sleeved t shirt looking like someone out of the Rubettes

I've got all of the Rubettes singles which I still enjoy

People on this forum are clearly extremely jealous of his achievements and if they could swap jobs with him they all would.

This. People say all he done was bring the concerts. To be honest bringing them he done more than everyone that followed. He brought Bruce Springsteen and the Foo Fighters which as a season ticket holder for many many years was one of the best things i have seen at the stadium.

Squeaky bum time for lots of lads from The Prior who Hutchinson got jobs at the SOL. Scary the amount of people working over there who are doing fuck all and stealing a living off SAFC.

Happens in any organisation though son, not the end of the world, it's always who you know not what you know. If it happened to you, you wouldn't complain.

Maybe but the club made no money on these gigs

I dont know the figures and wouldnt want to guess, however other clubs do gigs of far less popular people than we put and if there was no money to be made they wouldnt donit i guess, look at Man City in the summer it was back to back with concerts. I think been able to not only attract but start tours and the european leg of some like Take That, One Direction, Springsteen, Foos, Beyonce etc and yes i know they arent to everyones taste but it is an incredible coup for the north east and the city. They may not make the club huge sums but they will make the city and region a fair bit i bet.

In what way was that ?

Ne stewards were letting anyone on the pitch afterwards to take there flags down, Gary walked past on the pitch and a few people asked him including some youngens, he just went do I look the type of person to untie people's flags then just laughed. Kids were stood there gutted whilst he just walked off.

Good luck to him! He's done a great job building up the profile of the club and also bringing millions of pounds to the economy of the area and especially Sunderland. Well done to the lad, anyone who doesn't think he's done a good job for the club and the area is just bitter and twisted and envious......IMHO.
Alright gary keep your hair on.

There's always been a whiff of the hair about this forum.

A commercial director would attract very little interest at most clubs. Lets face it

But theres always a handful of posters hailing him as the greatest man the city of Sunderland ever produced.

Its canny weird.
