Depeche Mode

I only really bought the 'ultra' album, which I used to listen to obsessively, and the two greatest hits.

Got 'exciter' but it never really got my attention.

Any others you would recommend?
Exciter is by far their worst album imo. The last 2 have been weak too. Any before these are worth a listen if you're keen.

Thought Sounds of the Universe was good but Delta Machine was patchy by their standards.
Fair enough. PTA is the last album I really got on with. I'd probably struggle to tell you which songs are on which of the last 2 albums. The best song imo on SOTU (Ghost) was saved as a bonus track which just seemed odd.

Been 26 years since I saw them live,at the Milwaukee music fest and Chicago Rose Bowl in successive weeks. Planning to see them on this upcoming tour though, they've still got it.

I'd like to see them again but I'm not travelling to London for those prices. I think they will struggle to sell that gig out.
I'm looking forward to hearing the new album, always an interesting band over the past 30 years. I never liked their new romantic era stuff.

Will sell out easily along with all the other stadiums they are playing I don't think people realise just how big a band they are.

Unlike a fair few I thought songs of faith and devotion was quality
The live version is even better than the studio. Was that the tour that nearly finished them?

Yup. Saw them play at Crystal Palace. Dave was buggered like. Totally ruined. Amazing gig tho. Sisters of Mercy supported and as soon as they came on, all these Goths just appeared from underground. Once they finished, they all just disappeared again. Dead odd! :)

They are still huge in much of east Europe,Ukraine and Russia particularly;fans of a wide age spectrum over there.

Good band. High point around the Everything Counts, Shake The Disease, Stripped period. A classy band when things were a little naff.
