Yedlin

So why have we been trying all summer?

Wouldn't pay the 5m. I don't see how McNair is worth that but not Yedlin like.

The mags relegated and still showing more ambition than us. Utter clowns running our club for years now.

Two disaster signings instead.

Nah he wasn't ever really better than decent other than maybe Southampton away. He had a few decent games, very similar to when people on here were happy when we signed Coates after he had a few good games and we stayed up. He isn't good enough. Allardyce evidently didn't want him and now Moyes doesn't.

If we are going to build a team and develop young players (as Moyes states), yedlin seems an obvious choice as he's young, has premier league experience, isa known entity that's far from the finished product and, most importantly, a proven ability to learn and improve his game.

Now I get there those here that think his ceiling is low, but he'd certainly be a better dice role than some of the other options being bandied about.

This is the crux of our problem right here. Our team is so poor and Sam managed to find a system that allowed us to protect the defence and built confidence allowing us to steal goals. But to improve we need to dismantle that set up and by dismantling that set up, we will see just how poor or limited many of our players are. That system made all 4 defenders and Kirchhoff look much better than they are imo.
Agree, if Moyes wants us to play on the front foot, different players might be required to those who looked good in Allardyce's system.

so pva and yedlin not good enough for sunderland, every player has alot to learn but some have nothing to work with both them have alot to offer and both can improve
What I'm saying is both full backs weren't very good. They should have been back up ideally to two better ones. Love should be in the under 23s but we're currently threadbare. If on September 1st we still have Donald Love then you'll be 100% correct to be unhappy and I'll join you but Moyes obviously has other plans. He can't just sign a player because he is available and a few of us liked him he has to fit into what he wants to do.

How much shit have we been left with over the years that nobody wants. We need to move on from that.

Take him or leave him I guess, but it's "only" 5m (if reported correctly).

We are using some younger talent up front now, so if we spend more in the back, it needs to be someone solid. Yedlin is a cheaper option that could turn out to be a lot better; if you want someone with PL experience and fewer flaws, you have to get the checkbook out!

Mind the way things work out for them with average players they''l probably get £30m for him off some mugs in a years time

Just don't see it with him mate. As I've said all Summer I'd rather take a punt on someone from abroad like who we were linked with under Allardyce (and now Manquillo) than Yedlin, I don't see anything in his game that convinces me he's going to be a good Premier League player.

because hes better than what we have any signing that is better than what we have will improve the team. how is manquillo better than yedlin?

Because the manager obviously rates him higher than Yedlin. You disagree which is fine but why go after Santon and then Manquilo when all it would have took was one phone call?

So go with even more of an unknown? Just pick up a dart and throw it at the map of Eastern Europe and see what we come up with. Good plan!

fair enough but if his first 2 signings are anything to go by ( mcnair, love) he doesnt fill me with confidence ill gladly say i was wrong if he manages to bring in some decent players. love should be still at manchester

You sign players based on availability not in order of how desperate you are. If that were the case we'd not have bothered signing Januzaj.

you said he was better i was asking your opinion why? but we will see who he brings in if any1
