Your phone can't measure your heart rate so can't get an accurate reading on calories burned. Which is canny important if you're looking for weight loss. They would be amazing, if your phone didn't do it all anyway.

True, but those HR based calorie calculations are a load of shit, you realise? The are only approximations.Your phone can't measure your heart rate so can't get an accurate reading on calories burned. Which is canny important if you're looking for weight loss.

I've got a Charge HR & I'm not thinking it's spot on, but what it does do is make you very aware of your activity & how simple things like walking instead of driving makes a big difference. Stuff like a walk from the Grange to the SoL & back for me is about 400 calories. I need to burn off 500 more than I eat per day to lose a pound of fat a week. The measurements might not be spot on, but they don't half motivate you to change your lifestyle & give you goals.True, but those HR based calorie calculations are a load of shit, you realise? Nice watch the Ionic. Came close to buying one to replace my Fitbit Blaze, but ended up getting a cracking deal on a Samsung Gear S3.I've got the new Ionic like and it's belter. Love the sleep tracker. Very eye opening (no pun intended )
