If i was a Newcastle fan, i'd be glad to see the back of the likes of him, Sissoko, Tiote, Shelvey etc. Undoubtedly good players on their day - but the reason they were relegated is because they couldn't be arsed for most of last season. That will just be replicated in the Championship. Unfortunately, Benitez isn't as stupid as their fans, and won't be fooled in thinking that isolated win versus Spurs means everything is fine and dandy with their current squad.

The only one worth keeping is Townsend, and possibly Mitrovic if you can curb his temper. Other than that, the less spectacular players will be the ones that will probably thrive for them in the Championship. The likes of Colback, Lascelles, Dummett, Darlow.

Agreed. If they couldn't be arsed at most Premier League grounds you'd have trouble getting them out of bed for trips to Brentford, Reading, Bristol, Preston etc :lol:
