This Billy big bollocks act is going one of 2 ways, they'll either piss the league, or fail spectacularly when all the "shit" teams they swagger into unexpectedly pick them up and smash them into the ground like that fat kid did to the bully.

Personally I'd go into that league with less arrogance and more respect for the other 23 teams in there.
True.

It’s a huge job to keep their players with bottle (not many) then mix them with enough of people with experience of the league, if they are going to challenge for the top two. If they go into it like they are talking now (we are looking for trophies next year) then they are in trouble!

This. All day.

I'd have been more scared if they'd appointed Warnock or Bruce.

They're going into next season with completely the wrong attitude, I'm sure it will be great if they fuck everyone over but I'd imagine the atmosphere will turn toxic rather quickly if they take a while to adapt.
I was proper worried about getting relegated and I reckon we have a manager better suited for a championship battle. Our fans certainly weren't expecting an easy run so I dare say we would have been a lot more forgiving if it didn't go our way instantly.

They're basically writing every opponents team talks for them next season with all this world class this and massive club that. I hope it blows up in their f***ing face.

Correct marra. I hope anyway.

100% this. Yes they bounced back out of it last time and yes our recent record is impressive too but ferk me they`re in for a shock imo.

In Brighton you have a team that lost only 5 all season n didn't go up. An organised Norwich who`ll retain their hardworking squad.

As we speak, the mags are no better suited than Villa player wise imo.

As we see on here though fan moods rarely effect performances on the pitch but if their remodelled squad and manager swallow half the shit their fans/press spout daily it will blow up in their face.

its a marathon season and even a `steady` start will be viewed as shite by the masses.

f***ing hell I didn't realise Brighton only lost 5 games, poor twats....

More or less 2 points a game needed to guarantee a top 2 spot. No doubt the mags will be aiming for `the invincibles` trophy but I can see a good few defeats, particularly on the road.

They're a scalp and I hate the phrase but you need to earn the right to play in that league by fighting. Rafa will have to bring that fight in as they don't have it. Like it or lump it our flair players were pretty capably protected. I remember Bally strolling around just waiting for a chance to murder Shaun Derry in one game back in the day....

"I don't think i can love this man anymore than I already do."

"Newcastle legend"

"And that's how you become a legend. He'll never have to buy a drink in Newcastle again."

Can anyone remind me just what exactly the fat Spanish waiter has done to gain this legendary status?

I posted a thread, a while back, asking what Defoe would have to do to be considered a legend ...... I was slated!

This is after scoring the best derby goal I've ever seen, being part of the 6 in a row and being the biggest part of surviving and relegating Newcastle.

Benitez has actually done fuck all tbh.

He's spared them having to face the reality that they're a lower league also ran and the inevitable mass suicide that would follow.

They can't bear not being relevant as they're a set of attention hungry twats and now they at least get to bang on about having a "world class legend" manager.

Image is really the only thing they care about.

Yep, as long as the image is good, eh. Dear me haha

Tbh I've never rated Benitez that highly he's a good manager but I've found him to be better in the cups than leagues as he's quite a defensive manager as we saw when they played villa and I don't think there squad is as good as they're making out rob Elliot was excellent this season winning them a lot of points (Us,Spurs and Bournemouth at the top of my head) and they would have been a lot worse Off if not for him

I could be wrong but even if they keep there entire team I don't think they'll be in the top 2 there's lots of teams who could be up there Derby,Norwich, villa,Wigan,Ipswich,Brighton and probably a few others it's a vastly superior league now to when they last went down and imo I think they'll end up drawing too many
