Whose airport is it anyway?

repost time.

Sunderland had an airport.

Back during WW2 there was a need for air cover to protect the mining, shipbuilding and shipping industries in the northeast so they asked newcastle if they'd mind having an aerodrome. They of course said no cos it would be dangerous and they didnt want to get hurt.

Sunderland of course stood up and said yes bring em on so the primary aerodrome became Usworth, leading to us knacking the germans at the expense of our city being one of the seven must heavily bombed of the war and a lot of what you see now, the scars of battle as it were.

Anyway, we won and the war ended then one time they tried landing a few jets on the airfield. The were of course loud as fuck so we weren't having that nonsense going on day and night, so a plan was hatched to fly em over newcastle. They weren't keen but we explained the nasty germans had gone now and some careful persuasion led them not only to accept our unwanted air traffic but actually boast about it for the next 60 years. Not bad.

Crawley Town are known as a giant of the English game iirc.

They get can have a dozen airports and 20 tgi Fridays with twating waiters wearing black and white they never fail to embarrass themselves at every opportunity. They aren't even in our league, and it hurts them soooo much they'll chuck any old ridiculous shit back at us. I just laugh at them. "Yas divent even av an airpot man" kin ell, think I'll get over it:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I have a lovely photo of Sunderland airport with a a huge Goodyear Led Zepplin in the back ground.

Pointless having an airport when you have magical beaches already

Newcastle International Airport is run as a Public Private Partnership between seven local authorities in the North East region and AMP Capital who each have a 51% and 49% shareholding respectively of the company.

Shareholders:

Reckon we own more than they do and we've got Shotton Airport.
