Rafa Out Bingo

...... is crystallising.

Bit by bit, thanks to the likes of Thewliss and the rest of the media, the myth is being carved in stone that 'if only Rafa had come in a month earlier' they would've avoided relegation and would now be starting the march to glory ...... well it's bollocks.

Under McClaren the cry was always 'loads of quality, just need a little organisation', I saw it posted on here dozens of times.

When Benitez was appointed he repeated that 'fact' and pointed out why they would stay up. "We need to give the players confidence. I know we have ability,” he says, "I’m here because I believe we’re good enough to stay in the Premier League.”

He was given huge wages and an open hand to do whatever it took to save the club from relegation.
He said he could do the job, with that squad, in the time he had.
Tufty was derided for insisting they were improving ......... Newcastle were rubbish against Villa but it isn't the fault of the latest Messiah, no sir.

In reality, whatever the claims that he's 'tightened up the defence' or 'instilled a new ethic' they're still shite.

The facts, rather than the fiction, are that since he arrived Newcastle have failed against Sunderland, Norwich & Villa. The new improved defence conceded 8 goals in the 3 away games before Villa and they only managed 3 on target shots at Villa Park ........ Villa had conceded an average of 3 goals in the 5 previous games.

In a game Newcastle simply had to win, Benitez got the tactics, selection and substitutions wrong.

So now Ashley has to take the blame, as usual, because King Rafa was 'brought in too late'.

I truly hope he stays, as everyone seems to be praying for, and makes a complete fuck up as he's done so far.

Their "reasoning" is bollocks. How many games did Dick have last season ? He still managed to save us. They would be much better off getting someone like Pearson in , who is used to the Championship. Like you ,I wouldn't be bothered if he stayed - he is as unsuited to 2nd level football as he was to a relegation battle.

He had to beat Villa, a team already relegated to put pressure on us and potentially (if we'd lost to Chelsea) have us going into last nights game needing 3 points to be even in with a chance of staying up. We thought we were nervous last night wanting to win to make sure we stayed up at the first chance, imagine how it would have been if we'd need to win to still have that chance.
Yet he couldn't even manage that.

Media and the like on a constant wankathon about what he's done since he came in . As already stated those 3 games v the dross around them yielded 2 points . Don't get the improvement thing the 2 games they won were fortunate too even tho Swansea plated in plimsolls

Like Hughton didn't. We can all speculate to whether he would have kept us up with 29 games and a transfer window like Allardyce had. I feel he would have done.
Course u would of felt that, but he only has experience of managing big clubs, just cos 99% of your fans are fat ***** doesnt make you a big club, if he was here for 29 games ya woulda ended up below the villa man

Why do some people say 'who cares' on here?

It's a football chat forum about football for football supporters ........ what are people supposed to chat about?

Why not start a better thread if you 'don't care' about the manager of our local rivals?

It's not that you started a thread on it, it's that you seem to be letting it bother you. And that fact that it's a fairly meaningless argument. They didn't bring him in earlier and now they're relegated.

Didn't your fans get voted fattest in the league, slim? Pointless even trying to talk football with someone like you, too much hatred. Calm down, have a Horlicks

Do you think the performance against Villa showed an improvement from McClaren?

I do too. In fact I think almost anyone except McClaren may have done. Thankfully for us your thick as pigshit board decided that the grinning kneecap was doing a good job and kept him on until it was far too late.

Mind saying that I still think Benitez was partly to blame for that dreadful performance at Villa.

Without looking at all the stats etc, I bet advocaat and Di canio took over us in similar circumstances, maybe even worse and managed to keep us up.

Yet the so called Messiah needed more time.

I've even heard mags say that if there were another 5 games to play they would be alright. My response to that was a simple, you'd be even further behind us.

No, it was awful, but I could say do you think the 2-6 at Everton was an improvement on Advocaat? He's trying to make us harder to beat, which he's achieved, but the rot had set way too deep, IMO
