I've heard rumours about this. If it's true, it's still £8m towards a poorer replacement.

Townsend's problem is that he's a one trick pony whose one trick has been working quite well for us. Down the line, turn left, along the box and shoot. "Duff-ing it", we call it. Now, that's brilliant when it works, but easy to defend against when you set up properly.

None of those players listed are comparible to Batty, shearer or makelele so your point isn't valid

You say they're all lightweight, I reference players who aren't, you say they're not tall, I reference players who aren't tall but who aren't lightweight, you say they're incomparable to the original list based on.. I presume, their ability.

Ok, Andy Reid isn't lightweight, but he isn't tall, or as good as Shearer. :lol:

To be fair at the very least they should be in the playoff mix, there's no way all their "big name" players will find a buyer who can match the wages. They're foolish if they think it'll be as easy as last time though, they were close to our 105 points team, that is rare at that level.
