Newcastle Manager Situation

Could be an excellent appointment, will be genuinely interesting to see how he deals with his first relegation battle though.
The pressure of the season where he nearly won the league with Liverpool caused a few meltdowns.

"Never been in a relegation battle, doesn't know what it takes"

To those saying that, a lot of people said that about Dick and he kept us up - the same will happen up the road, Benitez will keep them up

Don't know how anyone on here can knock Benitez. Done extremely well wherever he has done. Chelsea fans didn't deserve him and he's easily in the top 10 coaches in Europe.

He's won what one champions league two Europa leagues the super cup and club World Cup? Not sure what he's won domestically.

Saying that them lot could hire him Ferguson and Mourinho together and they would still be doing down. They've made this bold statement of intent but it is too late. The players don't give a shit the fans are turning poisonous again. A humping off Leicester on Monday and anything but a win in the Derby and he will have the shortest honeymoon period of any manager. I hope he doesn't like horses....

He's done well at 3 clubs man

Bit like that Ranieri chap. Hadn't done much for a few years and his stock was falling. I mean, Leicester were always going down with him in charge.

I don't mind him, can't expect every media person to never offend anyone.
Especially the outraged masses on the forums.

Have to say, not once this season have I thought that we are going to be relegated. I was sure Big Sam would drag us out of it, particularly with our performances recently.
Now is the first time I think we're in trouble.

Next week is the biggest derby match since the play offs.
