Adam Johnson Trial Verdict

I think 'bereavement' is the wrong word but I know what you mean. We become emotionally attached to our very own organisation/institution and the natural tendency for some folk is to protect it in any way we can. Very natural human instincts.

While bereavement is usually used to relate to death it can also relate to other loss. So yeah, I get it.

For me I'm not bothered, players leave and the club moves on, it just so happens Johnson is leaving under unusual circumstances.

I'm sorry, really I am. I was too, by a neighbour who used to stalk me when he knew my parents went out on a Friday night. When I went out to avoid him, he wandered around the estate looking for me, and my friends thought I was rude when I took off when he spoke to me. I didn't tell my parents until I was married many years later. It was the last time anyone touched me...

I'm not sure what evoked such a response from you, you're normally level headed. What did you infer from what I said to get so upset?

Again, I'm genuinely sorry.
That a 15 year old girl can in any way or to any extent be responsible for a sexual crime committed against her. She cannot.

I'm sorry for your experience. I too told no-one for many years. I know all too well how it wrecks the psyche. I hope you have found peace and reconciliation with your past - again, I know from experience how hard this is. The thing that got me through it, many years after the event, was counselling. PM if you ever want to talk about it, or share thoughts on recovery and moving on. And go well.

FTM.

He was aye. The lad needs it for his medical equipment. He apologised for that but mocking a bairn on his big day is still bang out of order. The bloke is a prick who thinks he's hilarious.
Hmm. Andy Dawson. For some reason that article really annoyed me. Think its seeing someone writing for The Mirror claiming sunderland is 'his club' when in reality he's simply using the situation to make £20 for getting an online article published. Even suggesting the club are immoral for having chubby brown do a turn there recently.

Well aye

I was talking about the bloke who is comparing to bereavement mind
I know you were, I was just saying that's all

I hope the pint he buys with his £20 chokes him.

The bloke's an arsehole

Imho, that would still lead to the same problems if (say) the youngster was 17 years old.
"Youngster". We'll it's better than child child child child that seems to be in dozens of posts on this board.
It's s buzz word used by press to make things seem horrific and kick SAFC.
Johnson deserves to be hammered and if Maggie knew what is alleged she needs to go, but I'm sick of soundbite words like child. Yes she's a minor. Yes it's illegal and shocking but most people would not automatically categorise a 15 year old ad a child per se. 13 or 14 definitely.
I've said my piece and won't be responding to any inevitable criticism.

Grow up
Footballers are selfish and egocentric
If people want to cast them as heroes .... It's speaks volumes about how shallow their world is ... These men aren't heroes theyre paid athletes. They don't give a shit about you and they play for themselves ... Naive to think anything else

If anything this case shows that while it's fine for our kids to be admiring a footballers skills on the pitch we should be discouraging hero worship of them and encouraging them to idolise people more worthy of their admiration.

Source? I thought what he said was 'I didn't realise that counts as sexual activity?

not too sure one can say the whatsapps are covered given they're not mentioned explicitly and it's unclear (i) if SAFC read them or (ii) how soon is meant by 'immediately' passed on - and it's certainly not clear why they would ever have them if they weren't going to read them. It furthermore unclear given it has already been suggested to SAFC by the police why they WOULDN'T read them once they had a hold of them.

As has been said several times, this could all be put to bed by them just answering some simple questions.
His follow up interview.

Why would they mention them explicitly if they hadn't even read the documents?

Are you really asking me the meaning of 'immediately'?

You can post that link as many times as you like, she's still done nothing wrong, why are you so determined to throw blame and responsibility at everyone. You are literally a step away from blaming the fans.
Only one person is responsible, there is debate about all sorts of things but the responsibility of the person found guilty is pretty much agreed by everyone.

You're right, but the idea of a 17 year old having sexual encounters seems more palatable than 15 IMO. I can't fathom how a youngster can be deemed incapable of voting or drinking, but can make a decision about their bodies that could stay with them for life and even create a child.

It's warped IMO.
