Oh yes, I remember it well, she just goes from one fuck up straight into another. Makes me laugh at the end of her statements she always puts "no further comment will be made" and then she has to backtrack and issue further statements because she fucked up in the first one:lol: Short is as much to blame for appointing her in the first place, from Secretary to CEO in one swoop, and people wonder why the club is so badly run. Short and Byrne have turned us into the most hated club in world football amongst neutrals.

Sorry but

The last bit of this post is the most ott reaction I've ever heard

Aye, and if I ever face allegations I groomed a child I met in my place of work I would fully and completely expect to be suspended on pay pending the outcome of police inquiries/ a trial. Even if the allegations were off the wall, which they weren't in this case.

That's exactly it. I don't know why people refuse to accept he should have been suspended with pay until outcome of trial. She was present in meetings, had the best chance to make the right decision. She didn't. It's not even open for debate FFS.

I just can't believe for one second the club knew all the exact details of what went on and allowed him to play. He might have said he kissed her but prob just a peck or something. He certainly wouldnt have confessed that he groomed her, met her behind a Chinese and had a good neck on. I think people are jumping at the club too harshly, ok some of you want answers but personally I still think the clubs done the right thing and until I see evidence suggesting some sickening cover up I'll continue to think that.

Don't think I did:

"There is a lot of speculation following a line of questioning from Johnson's QC to Johnson during the trial which was designed to suggest to the jury that he was not afraid of losing his £60,000 a week wages if he pleaded guilty."

At least you've got this bit right today.

You make it sound like she was just there to answer the phones before she was made CEO.

I think its because people don't know the whole story from the club, you included.

She was club secretary, its not like sitting at a desk answering phones and filing ya knaaa

It's not speculation. How is it speculation to report on a specific allegation and ask if it's true? Speculation sounds like someone is guessing at something when in fact they are repeating the public record.

The accusations being tossed around about the club are pure speculation based on a few statements made in court which were designed to suggest to the jury that Johnson was not continuing to plead not guilty so that he could collect his £60,000 a week wages.

We have no idea what was actually even stated in court because we haven't seen the transcripts, all we know is a few quotes and the sensationalist headlines the media has ran with.

In which case, it begs the question, and not for the first time, why the club did not deny that this is exactly what they did when it was alleged in court and the club released a statement designed to address what was alleged in court?

This is just weird now.

In any other job that would be more than enough for suspension until the case was heard though, at the very least. I used to work for the police in Children and Families-there's no grey areas when it comes to the legislation on these things in circumstances like that. It's not like you can entrap an adult as a 15 year old without the adult being really f***ing stupid. If you said to your boss at work that you had given a random 15 year old a peck on the cheek and they were thinking about pressing charges, then things would (quite rightly) change for you very quickly.

I absolutely believe the Durham Police force when they say they met with Byrne on May 4th and allegations were discussed in detail. That's forgetting everything else that links to his being absolutely true.

He should not have played a single game for the first team from this point.

You're right they have no reason to believe that if they release another statement it would be wildly twisted in the media.

Nothing was alleged against the club in court otherwise they would have been there to answer the allegations. This is all based around a poor game the defence played in court to suggest Johnson pleading not guilty had nothing to do with the money he would lose out on.

Do you believe that the money played no part in his decision?

Edit: I'll just add that you have had my opinion on this extensively throughout this thread so why do you continue to put the same questions to me? Do you think my opinion will have changed because I have seen nothing to suggest that it should up until this point?

This is a sad case for everyone involved.

However, the BBC's witchhunt against our Club is disgusting. I really hope the Club is seriously looking at legal action against them.

Just a shame they werent more on their game with Jimmy Saville.

Until we hear from the club, and I don't think we will, then you don't know the full story. You can have your reasons but you'll never know.

Just for clarity the police have never said the above
Really?
